CBS forbade Late Show host Stephen Colbert from interviewing Texas State Representative James Talarico, a Democrat running to unseat Republican Senator John Cornyn.
Brendan Carr is interested in promoting "bona fide" news and non-partisan political content about as much as FOX News is invested in remaining "fair and balanced." His FCC is a joke and an affront to the very concept of free speech.
It'll be interesting if in the coming days evidence emerges of whether FOX News, RW AM talk radio, or other conservative outlets under FCC purview have recently provided any air time to GOP candidates. Maybe I'm biased; but I can't imagine it *not* to be so.
The 2024 campaign season comes to mind, where FOX News gave Trump countless hours of free air time; all while denying Harris any time--all while relentlessly insulting and criticizing her.
That CBS legal ordered Colbert to not only cancel the Talarico interview--but to also not divulge CBS management's order to cancel Talarico--is especially hypocritical and slimy.
Good thing the BBC, Canadian Broadcast news, and Guardian UK are outside the FCC's jurisdiction. There are probably others but those are three that are easy to get ahold of.
Billionaire control of the media undermines the integrity of journalism and the foundation in a democracy of an informed public. It's by design. You can't have a billionaireocracy and a democracy at the same time...
Colbert showed how resistance and revolution are done. He refused to comply fully with his bosses at CBS who caved to Carr and Trump by telling his audience what they had done and where they could find the censored content. He posted the censored content which has gotten far more views than it would have on his show. In one fell swoop, he stuck it to CBS, to Carr, to Trump and he turned Talerico into a free speech martyr.
They are bowing to Trump and are part of his regime, completely untrustworthy and complicit in uplifting the most corrupt government in modern North American history.
The funny thing about truth is that it always finds a way to emerge. Colbert posted his interview with Talarico on YouTube where it was watched by exponentially more people than would have seen it on CBS. Colbert has zero f**ks left to give. He refuses to allow a non-person like Carr, at the behest of Trump, to censor him
Ever wonder if members of Congress know how to read.
Congress should be in charge of FCC and not executive branch of government.
Congress should be in control of Federal Reserve.
If you want the President to have a power that belongs solely to Congress, this requires an Amendment to the Constitution.
If you want the President to have power to tariff, this requires Amendment to Constitution.
Almost everything in Constitution is in it to reduce tyranny, bribery, corruption. If you read Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and The Federalist Papers, you should quickly realize this. USA is a Federal Republic which is supposed to have Republican Form of Government. USA does not have Republican Form of Government. Gerrymandering and poll taxes deny people Republican Form of Government.
Powers discussed in Article 1, Section 8 of Constitution belong solely to Congress and may not be shared with President. Our founders gave Congress these powers to reduce tyranny, bribery, corruption. If want President to share a power that solely belongs to Congress, you need to have Amendment to Constitution.
One of main reasons our founders wanted each State to have 2 US Senators chosen by their State legislatures was so they would have power to fire President, Judges on US Supreme Court.
If federal government said people have to be allowed to buy marijuana for non medical reasons in NH, state legislature has power to say no. State legislature has power to say that cars, trucks that pollute beyond X amount may not be used in NH.
Congress should use its power
"To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces" which is in Article 1, Section 8 of Constitution to take control of ICE, border security, homeland security, FBI, VA, VA hospitals, military hospitals, CDC, USAMRIID.
Would it be constitutional for Congress to pass law creating a Declare War and Military Draft Board with 12 members picked by President, US Senate turned into minor player with just Advice and Consent, US House of Representatives having no say on Declaring War and Military Draft? No
The federal government and US Supreme Court do NOT have the power to keep state government of NH from being in control of locally produced beef that is sold only in NH.

USA could obtain most of its electricity needs and energy needs from hemp fuel
Hemp grown for the production of biomass fuels can provide all of our gas, oil and coal energy needs and end dependency on fossil fuels.
Hemp results in a 95.5% fuel-to-feed ratio when used for pyrolysis the thermochemical process that converts organic matter into fuel.
How many people are going to live shorter lives because our country would rather obtain energy from coal and oil than hemp fuel? How many more trillions of dollars are we going to waste on Medicare expenses, Medicaid expenses, health care expenses because our country would rather obtain energy from coal and oil than hemp fuel?
Maybe Carr and Weiss are part of a clandestine effort to boost CBS ratings: The Canadian leaked Youtube of the CECOT segment became one of the most watched 60 Minutes segments in history; I'd never heard of Talarico before but now I'm ready to donate.
The supreme irony of this attempt to censor Colbert is the unprecedented number of views it has generated on YouTube. As librarians know, censorship is great for book sales!
That phrase- fake news. I’m so sick of that phrase. I know it’s actually older than Trump, used for over a hundred years to describe fake content, but he takes credit for coining it and we have Kellyanne Conway to thank for giving us the ‘alternative facts’ that morphed into Trumps fake news proclamations. The reality is that news reporting happens in real time by real people with real reasons for saying what they are saying. Social media means that we are daily treated to real phonies, those folks who honestly believe all that stuff they honestly believe in and are sincerely reporting the phony stuff they are reporting. But this is not the fake news that gets Trumps ire. He gladly supports the real phonies. Fake news in Trumps world is heinous and destructive because it goes beyond sincerity and seriously fake content and impugns an entire legitimate industry responsible for reporting the facts. I love the fact that a simple, factual interview with a Texas politician who happens to be a seminarian in my Presbyterian faith tradition is such a threat to this administration, and that the same social media that gives us real phonies is used by real reporters to report the real news. Thanks for the facts Popular Information!

Someone needs to sue some right wing hate radio content provider demanding equal time. Let Carr stew in that hypocrisy.

The best part about this, the Streisand effect. Most people didn't realize what kind of problems there were. I guess they should have left it alone.
They are bowing to Trump and are part of his regime, completely untrustworthy and complicit in uplifting the most corrupt government in modern North American history.
CBS is finished. The network will not survive for much longer.

So long, CBS, it was a good run but it's over now.
As of last night, Stephen Colbert's interview with James Talarico had over 4 million views on You Tube.

And the interview was at the top of my home page when I opened YT. 5.4M views so far.
For those who follow history, and historical precedence, THIS is Nazi. Here we are.
