Ok so Green is corrupt to the core and an inveterate liar. In other words, typical Republican.

Ethical restrictions in Congress are only for Democrats.

If Green were a Dem, and made a similar arrangement to accept a fat payday; but only *after* voting on an all-important monster spending bill, FOX News and RW media would be all over it, running back-to-back segments. But not even a peep about the literally *billions* in crypto grift that Trump has amassed in a mere five months. Their hypocrisy is simply astounding.

Exactly. Judd and/or someone in the WH press corps needs to stand there and ask the question about Green's ethics over an over again. Someone in Johnson;s district should call the speaker of the house to complain over and over.

THIS IS WHAT RW media did for over 40 years, starting with Rush Limbaugh identifying women in power as "feminazis", calling out ANY and ALL democratic politician or operative with any sort of conflict at all. Does anyone recall Jim Wright resigning over buying his own books?

Current elected Democrats need to grow a SPINE, quickly and be a lot more vocal about this stuff.

Any reporter who did so would promptly be removed from those press briefings. Democrats tolerated and answered those bogus question over and over again in the name of "free speech." Republicans don't allow free speech, only indoctrination in favor of King Donald I. Anyone not willing to go along is gone.

Judd highlights the many times "Restoring Free Speech" was used in his campaign speeches. This dude is no King to me. Who do you think the jester is? Sean Hannity?

But, Nubby, the Democrats continue to roll over and cannot figure out marketing to Americans what Dems stand for in supporting average Americans. Weak. Weak. Weak Responses.

Greg Kapphahn's avatar

The dems are doing plenty of "marketing to Americans," but when they are not given air time on the destructative media or the oligarch-owned mainstream media no matter what they do or say, people do not hear their messages nor the truths they're trying to bring to light. Can you imagine Judd being allowed to make these points on any of our nation's major news media? NEVER!

That's a great observation: DEMS ARE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO SPREAD THEIR VIEWS B/O CORPORATE MEDIA BEING ON THE SIDE OF REPUGS. That's the first time I've ever heard anyone express it just like that.

At least here in New England they exist, but they've mostly gone into hiding. Charlie Baker (R) was two-term governor of my state (MA), 2015–2023. I didn't vote for him, but he's a decent guy and was an OK governor. MA has a Dem governor now, Maura Healey, but we often elect Republicans to the "corner office" because the heavily Democratic state legislature, especially the House, is nothing to write home about.

At this moment in time, a decent politician (and that includes any party) would be out there condemning the coup by the traitor trump and his criminal cabinet. I know there is fear, but that applies to all of us. Don't want to speak out? Then resign.

"social welfare programs, such as Medicaid, “[interrupt] the opportunity for people to come to a saving knowledge of who God is."

- I would prefer to not know who his god is. -

"Green, who had recently filed for divorce, was leaving her and their two children to start a new family with this woman at the same time that he had been leading a Bible study in their home."

- Looks like Green don't know his god either! -

Of course it would be that the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, an area so important to Trump, both embroiled in hateful lies for "protecting" our Homeland, who declare that:

"Americans should rely on God, not the government, for help and that social welfare programs, such as Medicaid, '[interrupt] the opportunity for people to come to a saving knowledge of who God is.'" Of course he views religion as a weapon, and has no comprehension of religions as an opportunity to know the wisdom within all beings.
