Caroline and other women who love being mothers (or simply want to be able to plan their lives) are being terrorized by DeSantis and other Republicans. These actions are heartless and ignorant. Thank you for the detailed exposure of Florida's Abortion laws and the story of Amendment 4. Not only is Caroline going through all kinds of hell, she lives in the path of the oncoming Hurricane Milton.

It is appalling, and the fact that he is turning down FEMA help for people without asking them whether they want him to "save money" on their backs, for his wealthy constitutants like Ken Griffin. https://www.inc.com/brian-contreras/floridas-richest-man-is-opening-a-pricey-new-miami-office-hes-not-only-one.html

What is it about real estate developers? Greed is their guiding character trait.

And DeSantis has catered to them, and lied to the people about the safety too. It seems everyone has forgotten about Surfside. That is when I learned a lot about skyscraper regulation. In Florida it seems that buildings can easily fall through the cracks of inspection and resolution of problems. I also read that the state is really porous, so not that best ground to be building tall buildings on. Of course the climate denying Republican party aka MAGAs, also do not care about porous ground, or boggy ground, or swampy ground, or wetlands. I hope the people of Florida can claim it back, but that does not seem to be the driving concern of the population. It looks like a state where Christian Nationalist Project 2025 has taken over.

After reading today's PI on history book on the Wampanoag Indians, I realize this began back then!

"...any act by which the health and lives of individuals may be endangered..."

DeSantis is a perfect little nazi.

I feel for Florida because that greedy little incompetent is their governor hours before the catastrophic hurricane Milton hits the state. He will accept every resource the Federal Gov't. can give, which he should, and allow the orange traitor to go on national TV and tell the country 'nothing is being done to help', and 'they spend the FEMA money on illegal aliens'.

Up is down and down is up.

Get everyone you know to VOTE BLUE up and down ballot. It is the only way to get this ship straight.

DeSantis thinks he’s the king of FL. The FL health website is a joke and full of lies

DeSantis is trying to show Trump what a clever fascist he can be by shitting all over the people of Florida, and stealing from them and lying, as a job interview for Trump's administration. Why the people in Florida support him is beyond me. I just feel that it is tragic that he is trying to turn Florida into Hungary, and stupid people in the state are letting him. I would like to see all Democrats leave the state if they do not win this round, and let Republican Floridians reap what DeSantis has sown, on their own.

The Heritage Foundation opposes to abortion rights claim: The statement also asserts that more permissive abortion laws “may negatively affect the growth of state and local revenues over time.”

An abhorrent statement on several levels...but my response is ...bring in more immigrants if you're concerned about Florida’s population dwindling!! Oh, wait! Are they the wrong 'color'?

They want to breed more 'workers' and dole out just enough money to keep us buying more useless items to fill their pockets, and pay taxes so they don't have to.

The US workforce is shrinking. Their abortion laws are making it worse as is anti-immigration stance and fears of more restrictions on contraception.

Yes. The workforce is shrinking...therefore we absolutely need immigrants to fill jobs.Forcing women to be incubators to guarantee enough labor is absolutely wrong.

When fascists get desperate, desperate fascists do very desperate things. Your rights simply don't matter, especially if you're a woman. And now that women are now 2nd class citizens due to fascists overturning Roe vs Wade, the GOP will do anything to keep it that way, rights be damned.

They choose times when people are distracted or desperate to push their agenda forward. Floridians may not notice how he sent a lot of resources to TN and NC as Milton was forming. He did that instead of things like using National Guard to help Floridians prepare & help remove debris.

The justification? In a later statement he said lot of Floridians spend the summer in those states. This article has a long list of resources he was deploying.

Florida is off the charts dark under the Republican Party. It’s become the state of storms, suppression, and festering ignorance. This cannot stand.

Obviously, and infuriatingly, legislators making laws pertaining to medicine and medical decisions, cannot be comprehensive enough to address all possible scenarios. That's why we go to medical school for several years. Most legislators are totally ignorant of medicine...especially pertaining to women's health.

DeSantis knows that Amendment 4 is going to pass and another brick in his precious fascist wall will crumble. He also knows that having Amendment 4 on the ballot threatens Scott and more than a few MAGA congressmen, who are already going to be in deep shit for voting against FEMA funding as the state gets crushed by another hurricane. Brownback proved MAGAnomics are a failure in Kansas. DeSantis is proving that MAGA social engineering is a failure in Floriduh.

Thank you for bringing this to light. I've been incensed by the use of a state public health office to air lightly veiled lies and political adds on tv. This is another attempt by DeSantis to circumvent the will of the majority of Floridians who support a woman's rights and try to again take away abortion access. The legal actions should be directed toward him and his flunkies!

The GOP has been captured by fraudsters & power by any means authoritarians. The projection & propaganda never stops.

Trump & Vance can’t handle the truth threatening fact checkers, whistleblowers & truth tellers with retribution. https://wapo.st/3XXgHPt

Trump & MAGA whine about booming Bidenomics: 98% of jobs created since 1989 were created during Democratic administrations. Republicans have lost jobs while ballooning the deficit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbPBuk5QoV8
