Trump and others were very critical of Biden for a chaotic evacuation from Afghanistan. Now who has a chaotic evacuation?

Katy Bolger's avatar

We have left one million Americans in an area we have engaged in war. We had months to bring those ships to the area, but not a week to get people out? Stoopid, stoopid, stoopid. I feel so badly for our armed forces who have already seen how ill suited their secretary of defense is - historically ill suited, he will be taught in military schools as what bad leadership looks like.

It's all about Trump 💩

It's also unclear how many Americans *want* to return home. I worked for two years in Saudi, and if I was, for example, stationed in Jeddah or even Riyadh--both far from most of the fighting, I'd see little point in leaving a well-paying job.

But for folks stationed on the Persian Gulf coast, it's looking pretty dicey. Getting bused to Jeddah, and flying out from there would make the most sense. But the State Department has been severely gutted during both Trump1 & 2, and no longer has the logistical capability to organize a serious evacuation. Maybe if they'd been given a few weeks head start, they could've gotten some results. The main take away here is GOP is synonymous with Incompetence.

The big difference was that Biden was ending a war, Trump is starting one.

Katy Bolger's avatar

Explain that to Fox News, speak slowly and clearly.

And keep all words to single syllables.

Adam's avatar

Wait! Ain't that all they know? Words like: lie, twump, cheat, twump, steal, twump, grift, twump, cash, twump, ice, gun, twump?

There is no evacuation. trump probably views those 500,000-one million American citizens as 'votes from abroad' that he wants to suppress or invalidate. The man is an American putin, and we will all become 'serfs' if we don't get rid of him and the criminals in his cabinet.

Katy Bolger's avatar

Do you like awake at night thinking, just for fun, of ways to get rid of him? Terrible but I do. I'm a Jimmy Carter democrat and I have lived through Nixon, Reagan (agh), the Bushes, each one degrading our country further in the interests of the wealthy few. But they were Republicans, not the enemy and we could see change any time a Dem got into office. But with Twump, this regime has been building since the resignation of Nixon. They have planned and plotted for decades for this moment. Their deviousness is so palatable, we have to think wtf country am I living in? We need to not only clean house, we might have to burn the house down and rebuild from scratch.

So true and with few harsh comments on mainline media. When you vote for a clown, you get a circus running the government.

Good one. He is just missing the big red nose.

Remember who actually "negotiated" that same chaotic evacuation? Uh huh. Same old ish on a different day!

Check this map to see where Americans are stranded.

If American lives weren't being put at risk, it would be reassuring that the Trump administration's incompetence is showing again. Aside from brazen corruption and wanton cruelty, its overall professional inadequacy is something you can genuinely count on.

MAGA influencers... you know... important people for Trump administration performances. Remember last year a bunch of "influencers" were given binders by Bondi on Epstein for a photo shoot in D.C.

"The White House has helped MAGA influencers escape the Middle East on a private jet while more than a million ordinary Americans are still trapped with no way out.

Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz, dog-walker Sarah Daither, and former lobbyist Jay Footlik were among six who managed to flee on a plane chartered by the former after US strikes on Iran unleashed chaos in the region."

“I thought we were going to have a situation where we were gonna be attacked.”

Um, what? Attacked where? This is nonsense.

ADNK's avatar

This situation is unconscionable. ALL Americans have a DUTY to MAKE the Republicans take control of their conference, DO THEIR JOBS, and get our citizens HOME.

The United States Congress is nothing more than an information gathering apparatus. First they give up the responsibility to declare war. Then they give up the right to levy tariffs. Then they give up the responsibility to require its budget to be followed. Their clarion call

When questioned is “Its not the right time”. We should ask each of them every day “Is today the right time?”. I suspect though the answer will always be “no”.

The toadies and lickspittles in the US administration and congress who enable the regimes „plans“ are showing their true colors. None of these scumbags give a shit about the citizens they claim to represent. It‘s a disaster for the entire world that US voters elected this mob boss and his thugs for a second time when it was readily apparent from his continual statements over the past 5 years that he would do his best to destroy your country if you gave him the chance.

This is the latest “unprecedented” from an “unprecedented” administration! I hope all these suckers remember at the polls, assuming they are allowed to vote, that this is the first time Americans have been abandoned by their government. I realize that it should come as no surprise that if this ends it will be because Trump gets some kind of a payoff from the Iranians. A few billion put into an offshore account free from the prying eyes of the IRS and available to Trump or his children. As for Congress I am reminded of the quote from Julius Caesar “What meat doth this, our Caesar feed?”

Steve S.'s avatar

Any chance of BOTH the State Department and Defense Department Secretaries being FULLY RELIEVED OF DUTY? - how about THAT? Anything less than this is CAPITULATION to the FILTH.

Zoe's avatar

Not with this Republican Congress. Every Republican has sold out. Truly stunning yet not entirely unexpected: Republicans’ superpower is loyalty to each other and theories, whether empirical data supports those theories or not.

Allison's avatar

But Trump had several MAGA “influencers” flown out on a private jet. Have to get those priorities straight.

Katy Bolger's avatar

Disgraceful!

I keep thinking about regime change in the United States. Sure, we have free and fair elections but that should not matter to a foreign enemy who does not like the regime we have. What stops an adversary from determining that our leadership needs to bombed off the planet? Turnaround is fair play, all is fair in love and war, karma is a bitch.

What stops them are oceans, border security and a stronger DEFENSE. Not war, we have no business going to war with a sovereign, albeit shitty, country. Did you have a lousy time in Paris? Bomb that shit. Don't like your in-laws? Bomb their home country.

Hegseth and Rubio need to be bombed to see what it is like to see their children blown to bits. How's that feel, daddy?

Adam's avatar

May I submit a short list of additional targets Katy?

I got stuck on the ground in a plane on the runway in London as we were bombing Iraq? Ethiopia? for hours and hours. Horrible experience.

The incompetence of this administration is staggering.

President Pedo does too have a plan. It just changes from moment to moment as a security feature so no one knows what he plans on doing, ya see? All under control. Now if you'll kindly hand over another $5B I'll be on my way, singing pedo - pedo - pedo all day!
