The R's got a total of $8.9 million in the 2023-24 election cycle, while the D's received $7.1 million in the same cycle. So, even though I was mistaken, the Democrats still receive enough in the way of 'incentives' to vote to prevent universal healthcare for Americas' citizens, which would devastate the profits of ins. companies, drug companies, and the lot.

Even if you have the best medical care, if you aren't vaccinated and you end up in a hospital as a result, god help you. I have a friend who was staunchly anti-vax, caught pneumonia at age 86 and now he not only ended up in a hospital, both his lungs were infected, and now after recovering his family has to pay for expensive nursing home care because he's so weak. There's a vaccine for pneumonia. I don't worry about getting catastrophically sick even though I am older than him because I have every single vaccine allowed by my insurance. I have also had every single Covid vaccine since they came out and have never caught that either. I highly, highly recommend getting your shots because even if there are side effects, you are very unlikely to be sicker than you would be with the actual disease. Most side effects are your immune system reacting to the vaccine, not you getting a disease, so you can just get through those, with a doctor's help if you need it. If you are immunocompromised, discuss with your doctor on how to best protect yourself. It's a tough world sometimes.
I had the MMR vaccination (along w/polio and everything else required to live in West Africa in the early 1960s). Had my titre levels checked last month and am in an extremely good range for continued protection. I continue to get any / all available and appropriate vaccinations, regularly. I do know i am going to die. However, I do not want it to happen because I avoided an opportunity (not certainty) to diminish risk. And I refuse to put my children into a situation where they have to care for my bad decisions.
