Forty-five percent of workers were injured on Prime Days?!?!? That's almost impossible to hear without thinking I live in a country that does not respect the rights of workers to be safe on the job. Wtf are they doing, building the pyramids? How is that number possible? Okay, I'm settled down.
I hate the fact that Wirecutter has run stories about Prime Sale Days and promoted their merchandise for days now. I am writing another letter after this one (to the NYT) and it won't be as nice. Sick of this shit.
It was so nice to receive notice from them when my Prime membership finally expired in July. Good riddance. And it feels great to no longer be their customer.
Imagine how quickly they would clean up their act if the law considered shops stealing from customers the same way it considers customers stealing from shops.
Treating Prime Day like it's news? Those "stories," presented by purportedly legitimate news sources (CNN, NBC, local broadcast affiliates, etc.) have always surprised me. They're commercials, of course. But why?
I can understand how an online site receives a cut using links, but what's in it for broadcasters? How is such a referral measured? Or does everybody just wants to stay on Bezos' good side?
Cancelled my Wired subscription over their Prime Day promos. Sad that so many of the journalistic outlets out there that purport to have integrity are up to this nonsense. Again, grateful for Popular Information for showing how it’s done.
Nailed it Judd! Thank you and all ..get reporting & responses!
Have you noticed your local news pushing sales & businesses? I timed ABC news 15 minutes of repeat just brush over news with last 15 -16 minutes commercials. PBS goes in-depth reporting!
The story mentions that Macy's, Best Buy, and other retailers have the same products for the exact cost or less!
I can attest to that fact. Amazon does not own the market on low prices. Shop at your local stores; in some cases, the prices are just as reasonable, and shopping locally helps your community.
It's not always easy to shop locally, I get that, but if we do more of it when we can, it can take some of the power out of these tech and corporate giants.

Thank you. Federal regulation is a must. People will not realize this for some time.

I canceled my prime membership back in December and have zero regrets. Fuck Bezos.

Great reporting, especially about the revenue from links. It’s outrageous how legacy media is in lockstep with the billionaires.
Nomads arrived, hired on to work Prime day.
Half will leave hurt, no union, no sick pay.
What’s the real cost, this desire to buy?
Are we concerned if not me, myself, I?
bravo! I have been waiting for years for someone to say this.
I try my damndest to avoid Amazon.... what competition do they have? Since Covid we have changed our shopping methods and it looks permanent

Thank you! I try Costco as well... avoiding Target but ...

Why not boycott Amazon? I haven’t bought anything from Amazon since January and haven’t missed it at all.
And, the price gouging of America continues….
I subscribe to Consumer Reports and see these Prime Day ads there of all places!
Maybe this was covered in WaPo?😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
