Jeff, and everyone, I want to tell you about something that recently happened to my spouse with Kroger. She has been ordering groceries from them to either pick up in their lot or have them deliver to the house. It's been rocky sometimes with problems- like she'll tell them I want a specific product and if you don't have it do not put a substitute in my order but they will etc. But some days ago she put in an order for about $108 for them to deliver it to the house. She has a doorbell video thing that is connected to her phone and it alerts her that someone is in the area of the porch and films the person. They claimed they delivered it but they must have delivered it to a different house. She knew it was coming so she was waiting for it. When it didn't come she called. They tried to call the delivery person who would not get back to them. They told her they would return the money in 7-10 days! This was her only money for groceries! She got back with them and complained about this but got nowhere. It is unclear if Kroger ever was able to connect with the delivery person ( who was part of Instacart). My spouse checked neighboring homes at the time with no success and the address on the house is clearly posted. In the end it took 8 days to get her refund. It took seconds for her to pay them. Why should it take 8 days ( or up to 10 ) to refund it!?
