When asked to defend their decision to end the pay bump, their answer is “we’re ending it like we said.”

Am I missing something?

Thank you for outing another example of corporate greed and misinformation. Personally, I’m sick of all the appreciative advertising via adds on TV, newspapers and billboards. Just use all this marketing money to PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A DECENT SALARY, a livable salary!! Overpaid CEO’s know that perception is more powerful than reality. We need to hold their feet to the fire to make sure they are actually ‘doing something’ monetarily to “thank” their underpaid employees working on the front lines of this pandemic. Every time I thank a person working in the field I add “and I hope you are being well compensated for the job you are doing because you SHOULD be.”

Every time I see one of these spots from big companies thanking their workers for their service during the pandemic, I immediately start to wonder how they're really treating them. I'm glad we have sources like Popular Information to help us cut through all the public relations BS.

America must protect itself from the deadly invasion of the Morbidly Rich. Raise top marginal tax rate back to 90+%. When the middle class was the essence of America and what democracy is all about.

When there’s No middle class there’s No democracy. Where there’s No democracy there’s No America.

A top marginal tax rate of 90% or higher takes the power of an inhuman object (money) Out of the hands of a minority of sociopaths with the power over humanity and their democracy.

A 90+% top marginal tax rate will establish and fortify the commonwealth power for all.

Such a rotten thing to do. But it is corporate America in the time of Trump. The employees don't make much to begin with. My son worked there during college.

I have been using the Kroger Click List to stay out of the store since no one much wears a mask except the employees (at long last) and me.

Seldom get everything we order, but I tip the kids that roll out my groceries. Two times ago, a manager-type rolled out my groceries. I stuck out my five$ I sprayed down and put in a ziploc snack bag and the manager said,

"Asolutely not, our employees do not accept tips!!"

"Well Boo and hiss on you," was my reply.

So I continue to tip. I just have a look at the kid who rolls it out, and when they give me my print-out, I slip them the five and say "Good job!"

Old moneybags the CEO is a 1%er rat fink. "Boo and hiss to him and his Fox News Ad , too.

I would be curious to know: $2 on top of what existing raise? Have the workers, I mean heroes, made it to $10/hour? After standing on their feet for 8 hours causing significant foot and back pain, do they gross $80? Break down the CEO's pay at 40/hour workweeks. How much does he make a day? How much did he pay for his shoes?

Interesting timing. I just read a post by Ashton Kutcher lauding Kroger for its new Farm to Table program, moving farm/dairy products that would have gone to waste into food banks across the country. What it didn’t mention, however, is that it’s taking money out of the pockets of Kroger employees to do this! I just posted a link to this story on Kutcher’s post. If there’s a better way to point out Kroger’s double speak, somebody go for it!

Two dollars per hour... A study in the UK shows what workers have the highest morbidity from Covid 19 and found that retail/sales workers are about 3rd highest. (Surprise was more of them are dying than doctors and nurses.) Suspect US will be similar if they ever test properly or let us know the real numbers. The low paid are expected to sacrifice themselves for shareholders and CEO's. How can two bucks an hour be too much when these companies are coining it in with increased demand like it's Christmas every day.

Not surprising. Disappointing and depressing, yes. But surprising, no.

Judd, can you also do a column on that "Plandemic" video that is still spreading like wildfire over Facebook?
