I graduated with a BS in Biochemistry in 2006 with $60K in student loan debt. My loans are currently at $90,000. They had ballooned to $130K when I struggled to find decent paying jobs during and after the 2008 recession.

$20K won't eliminate my debt but will help cut out some of the interest that has been eating me alive for almost 20 years now.

Funny how those who have the most in society work so hard to make sure that the rest of us never enjoy such priviledge...

I wonder if any MSM will bother to investigate and report on this lawsuit... my guess is that they won't... another great report from popular.info

I wonder if the transfer from DC to Indiana is so transparent that the judge could sanction this sanctimonious fraud.

A reminder that conservatives would rather see you get evicted and saddled with debt than see big businesses have to sacrifice profit for the public good. Thanks for helping expose them, Judd!

In other words, it's another bullshit lawsuit by the right wing that can't stand it if someone they think is unworthy gets something. I'm surprised that this right wing front beat Crooked Ken Paxton to the courthouse.

Regardless of the topic, we expect NYT and now CNN to be ‘right enough’ yet incomplete and slanted. Fortunately we can count on Popular Information to investigate and report a complete picture. Thanks as always.

This is just spite on the part of a few excessively wealthy people who are enjoying their oil profits at the nation's expense. The Koch would like to run the world. One of the Koch had a little chat with Putin before Putin jumped into war with Ukraine. (How nice.) I wonder how much the young man who is fronting for them is getting paid, because he IS getting thanked for this somehow. The amount of skullduggery is amazing. What's WRONG with forgiving debt? It's a drop in the bucket to what the large corporations get away with.

The party of no says NO to anything for the common good! Surprised?

Are there any really wealthy people that support anything that might be valuable to people that need help?

This constant abuse of the system by very wealthy individuals is as corrupt , or more corrupt ,

then the most corrupt. That of asking people who have meager means to make sure millionaires and billionaires don’t have to pay even a thousand dollars. Not to anyone other than their own hoarding selves.

Superlative reporting, Judd. This needs

to go to the fear mongering NYTIMES and Washington Post especially. Totally

disgusted with their half truth articles

on the budget office cost for student

loan forgiveness.

Judd, thank you for exposing that the richest among us are also the most selfish and greedy, and care the least for others.

Ironic, since this is all of these capitalist pigs and those who preceded them's fault in the first goddamn place. This country has a serious Koch problem and it's long past time for rehab.

Thank you for the revelations about Garrison and Pacific Legal. This scheme should be obvious, I guess, because the key usually comes down to "right wing billionaires." This world must be simply a game to them...with no conscience, no empathy, no depth.

Think of how playing a simple board game as a child (e.g., checkers, Monopoly) was simply about winning...unless you were an adult playing against a very young child.

So where were the federal lawsuits blocking the PPP loan forgiveness? I guess that’s ok as long as you are one of the beneficiaries! What hypocrisy!

How could 20K of loan forgiveness not reduce his overall indebtedness?
