Thank you for this update, Judd. Without the elimination of voter suppression, the United States cannot claim to be a Democracy. Which, of course, is the aim of the GOP.

I am amazed, astounded and very proud of the energy and persistence of Stacy Abrams. Her fight for voter rights and inspiring people to vote when they have that right is so important. I hope that others follow her steps in Arizona and other states trying put their boot on the neck of voters. We surely cannot count on the SCOTUS to stand up for our Country and the rights of all people to simply participate in democracy. SCOTUS, in its present form disgusts me.

Democrats need to solve this filibuster problem soon so they can fix voting rights and gerrymandering. This will be their last opportunity to course correct Democracy in American before we are ruled by a rural minority. The right in Congress has gotten more and more extreme. One day, they _will_ overrule the votes of the people to keep their own president in power. And Democrats are daft if they don't think the next time the GOP has control of the Senate they won't scrap the filibuster themselves to get what they want.

After that little stunt Sinema pulled re the vote on a $15 minimum wage, agreeing to a modification of filibuster rules is the least she could do.

1) Stacy Abrams is already (rightfully) a legend. I can't wait until 2022, when she defeats Brian Kemp to become Georgia's next Governor.

2) I'm not going to repeat my almost-daily posts about what the Democrats' priorities should be, but it does seem to me that many of them are simply blind to the stakes that are in play over the next two years. The Republicans are trying to set themselves up (through voter suppression laws and/or gerrymandering) to become the permanent majority party, despite being supported by a minority. WHY DON'T THE DEMOCRATS REALIZE THIS??????????

I agree that the filibuster needs to go, but I'm not sure the intermediate step of eliminating the silent filibuster gets us as far as we think. With a talking filibuster, the minority party can hold up all legislative progress in the senate while reveling in the media attention that's inevitably going to be pointed at them. With a silent filibuster, the senate can continue confirming judges and cabinet positions while they try to get 60 votes for cloture. Yes, talking makes their obstruction more obvious, but it's not like they can be shamed into doing the right thing. I might not totally understand how this change would affect the process, but it feels inconsequential. And if we're being honest, I'm against anything that might lead to Ted Cruz showing up in my news feed reading children's' books and waxing poetic.

Joe Manchin and Krystin Sinema are like Mo and Curly, 2 of the Three Stooges holding the Aces and Kings in a winner take all Poker game. How the hell do we have so much incompetence in our Congress. I won't even go there.

GOP Senators and House members trying to stop a fair election on Jan. 6 and an insurrection as a partial result. Now 2 Dems ready willing and able to help the GOP become minority rule.

You can't make this crap up.

Stacey Abrams is my hero. I hope she can be elected Gov. Of GA.

How and why is Biden opposed to eliminating the filibuster? What's the reasoning there? From my point of view it makes absolutely no sense at all that he wouldn't get rid of it entirely.
