ALEC has been working a very long time to achieve its aim of total republican “rule”. Ever since the Dixiecrats defected to the Republican side of the aisle this has been their ruling mission statement. Democrats have gone blithely along their way, whistling in the dark and hoping that looming darkness won’t overtake them. The voting public has been too busy trying to keep their heads above water, and getting ever more cynical about the system that doesn’t work for them, not realizing that they are responsible for the very system they are dependent on. I’m afraid for us at this juncture because the door for the big money influencers was flung wide. We need to insist that HR-1 must get passed and signed into law. Congress must not fiddly-fk around about it either.
