The 'we donate to both sides' nonsense isn't an answer. You cannot claim to support women and voting rights while simultaneously donating to republican leadership that is trying to accomplish the opposite. Please continue doing articles like this and following the money. I hope that bigger news outlets pick this up. These corporations need to have their hypocrisy called out. If they truly supported these things, they wouldn't continue to donate to republicans, cut and dry.

While I appreciate having this information regarding the corporate contributions, I am stuck wondering what I and other individuals can do about this. Other than not patronizing these corporations it seems there is little else I can do. My boycotting these corporations would be unnoticed. It would be helpful if Popular.info provided the contact information for these corporations so I could also email my views to them. Even doing that however feels like an empty gesture…I mean, why would they concern themselves with my concerns. I suppose if there were many like myself who were to boycott and email these corporations then the combined weight of the message may have an impact, but this too seems a faint hope. What else can we do?

I always feel a bit bad liking a story that makes me want to throw a chair, but this is the kind of reporting we need. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this essential reporting. Here's my plea: Can you also include more CONTRASTS between corporations making these awful, hypocritical contributions versus corporations offering similar products and services who are NOT making such contributions? I wish I could buy everything from Patagonia, but I can't!

Corporations contribute money to Republicans and Democrats alike. These corporations are not against abortion or voting rights, they just want to make these legislators happy so that they can continue Changing every other government policy and spending in their favor. They really don’t care about what’s good for people, they only care about how it benefits them. Corporate lobbying helps companies and the wealthy people who own them, it’s also Job security for Legislators and their families and is a Curse for Common people.

I agree it is probably not going to matter in the grand scheme if I do not patronize these business, even though they seem willing to patronize me, However, I try to give my business to to companies that care about what and who they support.

I agree that getting contact information and social media identities will help get their attention, it would also be helpful to list the companies in one business sector (each day, week...) and rank them on donations to the various PAC's and campaigns to help inform which ones we may have a better chance to impact with out purchases

Follow the money. Wonderful reporting once again.

It would be easier to evaluate these donations with some information about RSLC’s overall budget. Is $185k/50k a lot? (Almost certainly it’s peanuts to Google or CVS.)

Perhaps the shareholders should be given more say in what political priorities the company takes. That would make SCOTS' ridiculous "corporations are people" stance more truth than violently extruded baloney.
