This is horrifying. I am shocked and saddened at how easy it has been to derail everything we used to stand for. But I have to face the fact that we have been heading towards this since Reagan. It’s just the denouement of a sad progression supported by poor education and greed.

Well behind on reading and this is disgusting. The opposite here to the picture is back on the farm, producers were having to put down animals that could not get to the packing plants. Sept. 11 was the last day here the farr could apply for 5k grants from the USDA and another 5k by the end of the month from County CARES Act money.

So a potential 10k for a larger farm while the friends of Trump made a "killing" at the expense of workers in meatpacking plants.

Damn the 1%.

I’m not shocked in the least. OSHA, FDA, CDC have all been corrupted by these MAGA’ts. And I fear Democrats will not have the backbone to ferret all of them out **IF** we can get Trump out of the White House.

“the executive order was drafted by the meatpacking industry itself” Trump is lazy, of course he’d rely on whatever is handed to him instead of composing something on his own.

correction: The name of the meatpackers in Greeley CO is JBS, not JSB. And by the way, JBS is owned by two Brazilian brothers. They have a sordid history of bribery and other criminal behavior in their home country. And guess what? They've received millions of taxpayer dollars in bailouts intended to help American agricultural concerns. All that, and their careless disregard for the Amazon, which they are steadily destroying with the cattle-rearing practices they support.

To be honest, these guys have only been outed, sort of, by Trump's play-acting. They have been carrying on with impunity since day one. If you say you will "bring jobs" to a rural community, the community will hand you the keys.

Great reporting, horrible news. My heart goes out to these workers. I think Tyson Foods also fueled the 'meat panic' flames that lead to Trump's executive order. It's really backwards that OSHA has become something that protects the employers.. and not the employees. :/

The $15,615 JSB fine is like a fine of 1-1/2¢for someone making $50,000/yr.
