A fact-check of a viral climate misinformation article was quietly removed from Facebook earlier this month, a joint investigation by Popular Information and HEATED reveals.
Facebook is so incredibly annoying. It's becoming more and more clear that Facebook needs to be dismantled. Zuckerburg cannot be trusted with anything and it's 100% clear he is beholden to special interests and the people who pay him the most money. He doesn't care about the truth or the greater good. He is an evil person furthering the divide in America.
I find it tragically laughable that, while we're finding all these connections to Republican operatives and special handling of Republican (or generally right-wing) points of view, the people following those purveyors are frequently and loudly proclaiming that Facebook has a left-wing bias. I can only shake my head in despair at the willful blindness of some of my fellow human beings, people I had previously thought to be moderately intelligent and open-minded.
I think the most telling line of how Facebook makes its decisions is right here: "In light of the negative press that the decision recently created, 3PFC said it would be too risky to intervene in this case." In my opinion no single entity -- neither government nor private, and particularly not a for-profit enterprise -- should be so powerful that it can manage opinions on a global scale. Twitter and Facebook need to go away.
