"Abortion is not going to heal a rape victim. It will only make things worse," Birk said.

Yeah these mopes are brazen all right. Any woman, anybody for that matter who believes anything a republican says at this point is a fool looking to be parted from his/her money. A Kleenex to be used and tossed when no longer useful. Some kind of masochist.

Vote Blue. Your life depends upon it!

Thank you, again, Judd. Your investigations and research are extremely important and timely.

It occurs to me how WE, your subscribers, all know how we are going to vote in November.

The PROBLEM is getting your discoveries, reports and facts to tens of millions of voters. That requires the news media to carry and continue your investigations and reporting.

>>>>> But all of us MUST Remember: ...

>>>>> The purpose of The Media is to MAKE MONEY.

>>>>> Truth, not so much.

So we need profit-based arguments to present to the news media so they see a self-interest in reporting the truth.

> One idea I had is to ASSEMBLE A LIST of sympathetic journalists of the main publications, for US to forward summaries and URLs to your research and reports.

Email systems make it easy to create a group from that list of, say 100 names and emails, so that WE can push your important, wonderful journalism into their faces (cough cough)

What do you think? Would this work or help? American democracy is more at-risk every single day.

Thank you, all readers, for considering this. Other ideas should be promoted here and to Judd as well.

Regards,

You are indeed correct William. News (due to the vagaries of capitalism) has been transformed into news/entertainment product intended to place more eyeballs on ads thus generating income vs actually educating the populace. The irony is, they could still make huge profits while avoiding both-sider-ism, stupid hyperbole, distortions, outright lies and the like. They could be responsible, call out lies and inform the emperor that no, he is not wearing clothes and STILL make money! Why don't they? There is another agenda coupled with avarice is my bet.

Expand full comment

I think it has everything to do with falling ratings and massive loss of readership. Truth takes a beating when infotainment is the chosen carrot to lure people to read and watch. There is still plenty of responsible journalism out there, but you have to look for it, and most of it is behind a paywall. I don't blame the journalists, but their crappy editors. And it's not avarice but survival.

Agreed. Thank you Marycat2021. I appreciate your perspective and I too pay for trusted news in order to educate myself and those interested parties in my sphere of influence. Nor do I blame the actual journalists but I still see there being an agenda & good old American greed in the mix.

The consolidation of radio stations by Clear Channel slurping them up comes to mind.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your insights. You have given me food for though indeed!

I live I'm Minnesota and I've been appalled at Jensen's positions on abortion, but not surprised. He is an MD who consistently spread disinformation regarding the vaccine and referred to Covid as the flu. He seems to delight in being in direct opposition to guidance from The American Medical Association, who referred to the RvW decision as an "egregious allowance of government intrusion into the medical examination room." Imagine my delight when I read your piece this morning. I'm going to post this EVERYWHERE! I'm a member of several progressive groups in MN and will spread your piece far and wide. Keep up the good work and continue to call out the hypocrisy!

If you can't trust them on the campaign trail,

Don't trust them in office! 😡

Precisely. Can't trust them at ALL!!!

The sad/scary thing is that many people will buy in to the lies. Here's hoping that not enough do to (for example) flip the Minnesota Governor's mansion, the Colorado Senate seat, etc., etc........

Minnesota is not going to go for this crap. Like most states, the twin cities overpower the votes…and they are Blue. The “outstate” suburbs & farms are conservative. But even the first 2 rings of suburbs around Minneapolis have gone more Blue over the past 10 years.

Precisely. Or they tacitly accept the lies which gives them cover, so they can continue to support the racist, revisionist and cruel policies they love so well.

It would be ideal if this crap backfires on Jensen/Birk causing them to lose support in their demographic (The assbackward, trumpy part of MN).

Abortion is on every ballot. Full stop.

These people have a bottomless pit to sink low. RepubliCons employ gimmicks, lies & delusions to grab power. Life is of no real concern to them after birth. They never scream about the multitudes of wars killing babies. They never want to give a small child of color food programs etc.

But I have pretty good confidence in Minnesota voters. They’re not going to put a republican in. I lived in MN for years. Formerly, I think many Minnesotans were centrists but they know fascism when they see it. Too many Democratic voters here to let a right wing nut in. Not now.

That quote by Birk should disqualify him from ever running for public office but the far-right will eat that crap up. The deceitfulness and constant lying from the right is almost too much to take. If you're a republican, we know you're most likely pro-life. I hope this is picked up nationally and I hope these democratic counterparts call out their hypocrisy at every turn. This needs to be picked up nationally and reported on by more outlets. These people are on record saying abortion needs to be banned no matter what and now that its about to be election season, they are lying to get votes. I hope that voters are smart enough to see through this obvious lie. We need more women in public office.

Yes we do. No Boberts, Taylor-Greenes, Palins, Murkowskis, et al, need apply!

The supreme court's timing on this issue shows how out of touch they are with reality. Had they waited till after the midterms they might have assisted the Republican party in gaining a couple of senate seats. As things stand, they have handed the Democratic party a once in a lifetime opportunity to sweep both congress and the senate. Mitch may have won some battles in his SC crusade, but his party will surely lose the war, bigly.

Let us hope that it works out that way Alan. As you see the opposition is regrouping, rebranding and lying their lying asses off, giving the unwise, the unwary and the unintelligent the pablum upon which they feed, thus they become further deluded.

I'm pinning my hopes on those affected by the Roe decision. No amount of gaslighting or outright lying will convince them to support the Republican agenda. Hopefully they will stay engaged and enraged till the midterm elections.

Does any thinking American not know they’ll just lie brazenly now? To fulfill the ’win at any cost’ platform Republican pols have run on for decades? Forget clever semantics or misrepresentation, now it’s just openly lie. Their party leader does it with relish, to his detriment even. Why shouldn’t they?

Expand full comment

Yes, I agree that any and every "thinking American" knows the republicans lie like breathing. It's a natural thing for them them to do. The problem is those who apparently are mentally defective and unable to come to proper conclusions on their own. There appears to be more and more of THEM with each passing day.

As usual, you deserve the Nobel for exposure of hypocrisy. Thank you for your fine work.

Judd does deserve that level of recognition doesn't he? He has my vote Jim, most definitely!

It's general knowledge that all politicians lie, either subilty or blatantly, but now TFG has trained them that their lies are irrelevant and have little or no effect on how many votes they get. We need to see to it that liars are exposed and lies are debunked or we can kiss democracy good-bye.

Expand full comment

It isn't the first time Republicans have flip-flopped, lied and pandered for votes. They're simply counting on people with poor memories, and low information voters, to carry the election for them.

How much could you trust an elected official who will do anything, say anything to gain office? About as far as I could throw Trump. Are these the people we want in charge of our government? Trump proved time and again he was only out for himself. These little "Trumpettes" are the same.

From the article: Birk, who appears with Jensen in the video, says that "deep down, women don't really want to have abortions."

Listen, dipshit Birk, no one, and I mean no one, WANTS an abortion. It is an agonizing personal decision between the woman, her SO (or not depending on the circumstances) and her doctor.
