in Citizens United, the SCOTUS infamously ruled that everyone has free speech, but money talks much, much louder than human beings. And, the conundrum we find ourselves in now is the cascading result of that ruling. The SCOTUS trampled on the people's voice. Now we've lost our eyes & ears, too. Before long, we won't have anything left to lose. The moral of this story is classic and needs no repeating. Look around at this wasteland of self-loving idiots. Go ahead and tell me the man who is currently POTUS is *not* representative of the American people, on aggregate. Donald Trump is the quintessential American. He loves only himself, & money, fame, power, & self-gratification are the only pursuits in his life. That sounds like most of the people I meet every day. It's sad. It hurts the soul. But, it's a fact.

"The fate of the country does not depend on what kind of paper you drop into the ballot-box, but on what kind of man you drop from your chamber into the street every morning." -Henry David Thoreau

I live among Trump country supporters. That being said. They gave thousands this month to Toys for kids. They will help you change a flat tire. It was and still is Hillary they hated. Now it is Gov. Northram and his proposal to make gun owners felons. What happened is people have started basing life and opinion on our differences instead of concentrating on we have in common. Add to that MSM abandonment due to 1% ownership and the playing field is now full of boulders. No one to speak to the world except guys like Judd, Sarah Kendizar, etc. Totes to Judd!

This is this the kind of column that one hates to ❤️. I’m sitting here reading this while wanting to get sick and throw up. What a disgusting party these so-called Repubs have turned themselves into. They are literally bleeding this country dry. Anyone who still thinks they have the country’s best interests at heart is totally delusional. Excuse me while I do barf!

I'm glad you highlighted the disconnect between enrichment and investment. Simply put, corporations aren't using their tax breaks to invest in a way that benefits American workers. They're using it to buy back stocks and to justify obscene compensation packages for top-level executives. It's deplorable, and I hope Bernie Sanders continues to drive this message home for as long as he's in the race (praying that's up until the end and into the White House).

He's using it to explain the low unemployment rates and so-called strong economy. Can you address that argument because that is what people hear the loudest.

He holds an overvalued stock market over the 401K investor and those jobs are mostly low wage. No one talks about that.

Republicans worship Russia now. We have a full-blown kleptocracy. The climate catastrophe will wipe away this obscenity along with the rest of us. I just hope that when civilisation collapses, the super-rich go first.

Dude haven't you seen the cable shows on those refurbished nuclear silos the super rich have purchased just for that. And the crazy white supremacists including one here, have buried buses and RV's packed full of supplies. They have a hatch on the top. Scary durn world if the future wipes us out. What is left will be The Road Warrior.

They won't last long. Disease or famine or infighting or insanity will kill them off within a very few years.

I “liked” your comment, but I don’t really LIKE it, if you know what I mean.

Beautifully summarized description of our corporate welfare/subsidy program. Senator Warren is the only public figure I have heard mention how all corporations use societies resources and should be billed (thru tax) for the resources they cannot function without. None of the corp tax reductions (since the 70s) have delivered the advertised benefits. Not a single one. We have the data as shown here. This is a description of France before their revolution: the peasants and merchants paid all the tax while aristocrats and church (modern corporations) reaped all the benefits.

The country is the straw that broke the country's back. We have become a country who just wants to get high and put our headphones on and (ahem) masturbate to unlimited porn. Whoopee we're all gonna die.

Presidential candidates need to get this message out there louder and longer and not let go of it.

It's just Ludacris.

Propaganda media needs to go also.

Which of the current Democratic Presidential Nominee contenders is most likely to get this point across to on-the-fence voters? This could be part of a winning strategy. Judd has outlined it in an understandable way. Why can’t the candidates?

How much public debt has Trump/GOP amassed with this tax cut?? We are in the trillions. Due to his restructure, the American public paid like 91 billion more in federal taxes last year. The shell game continues. Public told you get to keep more in your pocket. BS pure and simple. 1% has made a killing and so have the Big Corporations.
