Of course McConnell voted against medical leave and is now being paid his full salary while absent (and likely while dead). But let's be real hypocrisy is the least of his sins. His legacy as the most toxic and damaging politician of the modern era (yes worse than Trump) is secure.

He is a piece of shit and now we have a government full of sick, white bullies having lots of fun with taxpayer money AND getting paid to be sick bullies. What a life!

Honestly it's time for Congress to have the same healthcare and same leave benefits as the American people. A typical work week in Washington is 3 to 4 days. That 5th day should be unpaid. When they are in recess they should have to demonstrate and document how they were working. Otherwise it should be unpaid. Travel days should be unpaid. Sick leave should be capped at 10 days. That is 2 weeks, which is much more than the average American gets. Likewise vacation should start at 2 weeks and they can accrue more after they are in office for a period of time, just like most Americans. And Mitch McConnell should have to reimburse Americans for his time off for which he was paid, which exceeded the allowable paid time off. Their healthcare should mirror the benefits that most Americans get. I am sick of supporting a group of people who don't work, don't do what they promised to do, and seem to dream up ways to make Americans' lives more difficult.

Or, average Americans should get the same benefits as Congress does. The fact of the matter is that Washington looks down their noses at regular folks. They see how some cheat the system and make laws for all of us based on the worst of us. Therefore, we look for ways to get around their stringency and distrust and we all look like we are trying to get over when what all of us are trying to do is take care of ourselves and our families.

Hey! Mitch McConnell: go to hell. Please. Now.

Excellent ideas! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Do we know if he is actually alive?

We had a similar situation here in New Jersey. Tom Kean Jr. missed four months of work due to depression symptoms while consistently voting against against paid medical leave. Feels great to be an American, doesn't it?

Speculation on McConnell's health continues as he is buried in his hometown cemetery.

You're a one-man wrecking crew, Judd. Thanks for picking up the mantle of journalism the corporate media laid down decades ago.

McConnell, much like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Netanyahu, Putin, and Trump, should've died when they were babies. The world would be a much better place if they had. There are hundreds more who deserve to be on this list; time and space prevent that.

What great reporting on a subject republicans don’t want to discuss.

Yes, it’s a little r there are no true Republicans anymore just maggots.

Before they try making the USPS a private company because they’re non profitable ( due to incompetence in Leadership by t board ) Let’s demand like they did to the postal workers that all Pensions held for Congress, White House, Supreme Court, and yes Military be included in all budgets so we can see what the true costs are and what we’re getting for Our money! By the way, let’s define a session as 8.0 not 5minutes from gavel to gavel.

There’s a lot to clean up.

The hypocrisy is suffocating. Government healthcare. Benefits none of us get. Pensions after only a few years! Anyone got a pension coming there way? Corporations have now rigged the system with 401(k)’s, meaning you pay nearly everything for your retirement. Godspeed.

Good story, but why are you assuming he is alive? There is no proof of that.

What we don't know, the devil does. The hot rocks are ready for his (late) arrival and let's face it, have been for years.
