Joe Kent is a bad guy! Being "very reasonable" we should question more rigorously what Rand Paul's relationship with Putin comes from. Where does Paul get half a million to donate to this guy? Why would Joe Kent become a spokesperson for Putin? What happened to cause Kent to leave the CIA? He's certainly savvy about international spying. Asha is an Assistant Dean and Senior Lecturer at the Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs and a former Associate Dean at Yale Law School. Before that, Asha was an FBI Special Agent, stationed in the New York Division and specializing in counterintelligence investigations. At Yale, she teaches courses on national security law, Russian information warfare, and leadership and ethics. She also writes the Freedom Substack. She was talking about the chain of command in the recent case against Russian agents who were using US companies and influencers to spread disinformation. She explained that the two top people probably were not charged because they turned states evidence. Wondering what is going on here, and assume he must be being watched by someone with rhetoric like this.
I'm old enough to remember when the Russians were the bad guys. And any politician who sucked up to them to the degree that today's Republicans suck up to Putin would be out of politics permanently before the end of the day. Guys like Kent are a menace and cannot be trusted with the nation's secrets. I for one don't believe for one minute that he wouldn't share everything with some KGB spy he knows from his CIA days. Speaking of that, do we safely assume that this talk has cost him his security clearance?
It seems like the US needs to do some house cleaning with Russian agents and "useful idiots" as well as White Supremacists. Both are bringing us down, and potentially turning us into a third world country, with Trump or JDV at the helm. That is what I get from reading Project 2025 and discussing it in a book club. It is a formula for destruction of our nation.

I Looked up Kent on Wiki and noted that he has no advanced degree, so his only history creds are from HS World History. He also initially refused to concede in the 2022 election he lost. He's a trumpian acolyte.

What's interesting is that Washington is home to a lot of Ukrainians, including in Clarke County, which is in this district. (There are also a fair number of Russian immigrants.) I wonder how they're responding to Kent's candidacy?
My dad’s paternal family came from the Austrian Partition which is now part of Poland and Ukraine. I am part of a history / genealogy group of descendants. No sympathy for Putin’s claims. In fact they share info on credible organizations and fundraisers to assist Ukraine and the Polish businesses & non-profits helping Ukrainians who have fled.
Although many are conservative by nature … I saw a young Kent Co. MI (swing bellweather county) female voter interviewed. She said her family ancestry is Ukrainian. She heard what Harris said and it has motivated her vote for Harris.
