Who cares what Megyn Kelly thinks or says about anyone or anything? She is a talent free has been with a chip on her shoulder the size of a 2x4 because she couldn't even hold onto a job as a Republican shill on Fox News. Perhaps we, and all media bosses, should take a lesson from the prestigious Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University who rejected her application. The knew all those years ago that she had no talent and was only good for repeating bullshit handed to her by whomever she was trying to impress that day.

Unfortunately Little Donny Convict and J.D.Weirdo care what she thinks and says. Let's face it, they've sunk to the point where they're desperately looking for anything they can use to stop the Kamala train. They know it's not true, but your average MAGA voter won't. I dread to think what's next, but at least the lies are starting to get called out by MSM now.

All that Corporate media is doing when they call out lies is amplify them. I would like to see them point out that Megyn Kelly is a liar, and that Donald Trump is. It was powerful that Kamala Harris said that DT lies, and JDV admitted that he is lying to get media attention. The best thing corporate media could do is make DT and JDV work for their stories.

JD didn’t intend to tell CNN he “creates stories” and have to defend making baseless statements.

“And in fact, neo-Nazis are now taking credit, frankly, for pushing these rumors mainstream. Why are you continuing to double and triple down on these baseless claims?”

He didn’t know when he criticized the anchor for not treating him like Harris & Walz that the response would be:

“I think that if Kamala Harris and Tim Walts were making unsubstantiated claims that had racist undertones about people eating dogs and cats, and they didn’t answer the questions about that, then I would have similar interactions with them.”

He probably won’t be anxious to return.

Candidates make declarative sentences to define their opponent.

Journalists are supposed to expose the truth. It’s sad that people don’t have the ability to recognize the truth & follow commentators to explain facts. Different audiences receive different ‘facts.’

Since I'm getting likes I should credit Jeff Tiedrich for the Donny Convict moniker. He has a great name for Vance too. I read his substack Everybody Has A Right To My Own Opinion every day, and it never fails.

I love Tiedrich, in fact, even though my daughter does not read Substacks, she knows by my laughing when I am likely to be reading him, and will say, "Tiedrich?" I like the Elderly Golfer series he has going on now.

My favorite is, "Trump's rat-infested golf motel and dead ex-wife cemetery." It doesn't roll off the tongue like Donny Convict but it cracks me up every time.

Popular Information will be cited in major newspapers and TV news shows to right the wrongs of livid Megan Kelly. You are right, Mega Megan owes a strong apology to Taylor Swift! How insanely wrong people can get when they are feeling insanely angry! Megan is still trying to get back on the good side of Trump and Fox--it's not going to do any good for anyone on any side.

How wonderful that Taylor Swift can bring forth her honest way of relating to life and love in a way that reaches people of all ages and any gender! She has highlighted the importance of registering to vote, the importance of voting, and the importance of truly learning what each candidate stands for.

They need people like Kelly to legitimize their attack lines.

As.Trump revealed in the debate, he doesn't need facts and won't do any screening. If someone said a useful lie on TV, he takes it and runs with it.

Unfortunately people tend to believe or at least be inclined to accept the first talking point they hear, which is why I had a colleague tell me with a straight face about furries and litterboxes in classrooms.

So glad that these attacks on Taylor Swift are backfiring as the Swifties are now attuned to why their parents can vote for Trump who has said he hates TS. My daughter does not have to worry that her parents would vote for someone she is a big fan of, let us hope that those Swifties who are 18 and older get signed up to vote and get out and vote.

How the hell do these people live with themselves? Have they no shame ?

Yes, the RW has no shame. It gets in the way of power. And they're willing - more than that they thrive - in telling lies and offering baseless and often ridiculous conspiracy theories.

The endless disinformation, vulgarity and violent rhetoric of rightwing media is frightening and exhausting. Worse, is the lowbrow consciousness, racism, and bigotry of Trump's filthy apologists and supporters who ignore his criminality and malevolent behavior and speech. Why is the freedom of speech, hate speech that incites murder and mayhem, practiced by MAGA detritus, protected? Kelly, Musk, Trump, Vance ... are given permission slips to slander, libel and defame. I always appreciate Judd Legum for his unremitting efforts to take on these Uber trolls of Trump Inc., but the catastrophic consequences of living in and around the vile, base nature of Trump media and Trump dystopian-loving followers is awful, destructive, and, in my view, should be subject to the rule of law.

Just as you may criticize and use a lot of adjectives, they may do so against public figures. They claim not to like the higher standards for proving defamation (to protect the media) but they built their career and following on it. Knowing something & proving it are 2 different things. We know they deliberately use defamatory information, proving it is not so simple. The degree of difficulty involved in winning a lawsuit goes up as the ridiculous factor goes up.

We could go back to Pre-Reagan days when the FCC had rules about airing lies and unsubstantiated claims . . . The rules that were put into effect following the “WAR of the WORLDS” broadcast where listeners were so frightened, they actually jumped out of high buildings.

That law didn't apply to cable, just over the air broadcasts, because they were using "public" airwaves

This set of Megyn Kelly lies and the Ohio Haitian lies are reminders of Sarah Kendzior’s insight: “What they’re trying to do is establish power: they are lying to flaunt power. They are saying to us: ‘We know that you know that this is a lie, and we don’t care, because there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.’”

I wonder sometimes whether we as a nation could move on from the culture war rhetoric and misinformation by developing very simple responses. For example, when someone is using a wedge issue/culture war totem in public or private comments a legitimate reply might be "how is this putting food on people's plates, providing an opportunity for a permanent home for the homeless, or improving the lives of fellow Americans?" I wager the linkage between the whatever divicive issue is raised and a real proposal for improvement is non-existent.
