Media needs to face the facts - Republicans won't condemn Trump, Fuentes or Kanye because 1) they fear the wrath of the MAGA horde and 2) they agree with them. Racism and anti-Semitism are the price of membership in the GQP.

Expecting a different result from GOP leadership re: Trump's appalling provocations is the definition of insanity. We need to acknowledge this episode as another arrow in the anti-Trump quiver and move on. To focus too much attention is a waste of energy and time.

Unfortunately the GOP is in the pockets of 700 billionaires and multimillion plus corporations that want complete and total power and it is basically white power. The House has been overtaken once again because major media is also in the pockets of or owned by those same billionaires.

A pox on NYT Maggie Haberman types across the board.

America has 74 million voters that voted for Trump just 2 years ago. Stupidity is combined with gullibility, racism, anti minority, white supremacists, Christian extremism, and a plate full of other horse biscuit beliefs.

I live in a Red area. These folks are so self-centered, bet none of them will help a teen with a forced pregnancy nor the the child born from if it, and dumb enough to believe Trump is THEIR president.

And on that thought. Why is the media not making a big deal out of the FACT Herschel Walker's primary residence is in Dallas, TEXAS. He said over the weekend in an interview with nodding Cruz on oneside and Lindsay nodding on the other, he wanted to be "erected."

If that doesn't say how bad these fools want to be in power...nothing will.

As for Elon Musk, just another billionaire doing the bidding of others including Putin whom he visited the week before he took over Twitter. That dude who now runs CNN and multiple other media moguls all part of the takeovers of free press to benefit the 1%.

If you want Jude to stay in business, subscribe. You and I must support the truth and those who tell it.

How do you spell Trump ?

EVIL,

And Republican Party leaders?

EVIL.

This is about as low as they can go. Refusing to comment on White Supremacy backed by Trump and others. Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and assorted sordid other Republicans.

, they confirm republicans are backing and part of

White Supremacy.

EVIL.

The Republican Party is rotting from the inside out. It is no longer concerned about America, but its own power to rule our world for its own profit. They have lost their ideals and have embraced the underbelly of the world. It's a shame. Where are the good sound Republicans who will stand up to these 'gone wrong' politicians?

The media needs to vet all sources. The media needs to take a breath and spend more time editing. The media needs to be independent. The media needs to be professional at all times. The media needs to be our information gatekeeper. And many others things. Cable media is opera buffa. However we must demand that legitimate media do the job. Write to them. Call them.

We'll hear Republican condemnations of the meeting with rabid anti-Semite Nick Fuentes about the same time as we hear them admit that they are seeking a national ban on abortion (only Lyndsay Graham has partially admitted to it).

In other words, never.

As we know, Donald Trump's mind isn't exactly a steel trap. That said, the idea that none of the political candidates/legislators here are familiar with Fuentes is just incomprehensible, and the extent to which they would court Trump supporters is disturbing. They're playing with fire.

Anybody surprised. So sick of the same ole Schitt. Blah, blah, blah. As WW2 wound down, Ike was quoted as saying “Get it all on record now - Get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.” Ike knew it did, we know it did, the “bastards” (likely 100% of them the same genetic mongrels we all are) know it did. Same old game, I want power, piss on you idiots…blah, blah, blah

TFG is certainly ignorant, and what's more, doesn't care or try to study any topic or matter for deeper understanding. Given the fawning acquiescence of so many in the GQP, why should he? Followers still flock to him. In fact, he seems to be proving craftier in his messaging than some would realize. His academic IQ may be unremarkable, but his media savvy is, IMO, underrated. Look at how he has yet again cowed GQP leadership into silence while throwing red meat to his base base.

I am deeply disturbed by the well choreographed Mara Lago dinner. Thank you for pointing out Trump’s hypocrisy

Thanks Judd for pounding away on this extremely important issue! This dovetails perfectly with Rachel Maddow’s new podcast series “Ultra”. In an important recent interview of Rachel by Jon Favreau she says what we can do is what they did here in the 40’s to confront the same kind of normalizing of the anti-semitic movement, namely: work to educate in every way possible those that are complicit by not standing up for the sake of saving America from fascism which is hugely rooted in demonizing particular groups with fear of replacement (this is my interpretation of Maddow’s recommendation - please do not take literally, thank you!

Trump knew Fuentes well before this little dinner at Mar-a-Lago. 2020 is a good starting place for

their introduction to each other and

this NAZI fascist was at the Stop the Steal and spoke on Jan. 6.

A good source for info on Trump

Thank you Judd, for covering this.

Denying knowledge about someone else’s ethical and political views when you are a politician ought to make it obvious you are either too ignorant to be in government, or think the public is. Ignorant. We all need to call it out!

Republicans are chin deep now and they have neither the balls nor the will to do anything out of lockstep. Yet they now know even many of their own are on to the game. So the crazier and more isolationist they get the more people they leave behind-the midterms showed us that much. There’s a floor, sure, but we’re not there yet. GOP Leadership will be walking a wide fault line for the next 2 years and oddly they seem to have no long game.

After observing Trump thoroughly for years [this may be true of all of us--how can we help it?], I give him credit for enormous energy and strength of mind. His delivery is almost always like that of a Broadway performer (albeit repetitive and wandering), and he manages to appear hale and hearty despite regular consumption of the world's worst diet. His barometer of vetting people is never about truth and justice, but about evidence that they like or love him. If they believe the election was stolen, he'll support them regardless of whether they are dumb, or cruel, or mentally ill. I heard one point about Fuentes everyone else seems to have missed: that he told T he is on the wrong track, and that DeSantis may be more in sync with Fuentes views. So, T is groveling to get Fuentes' (and his followers') favoritism.

Unfortunately, we can't ignore him (until and unless he's sent to prison) because he represents a sizable percentage of who we are. [Maybe not who the Founding Fathers or Lincoln and U.S. Grant were addressing, but here we are 100 to 200 years later.]
