It’s all about the almighty dollar. Corporations may say they support voting rights, LGBTQ, reasonable gun restrictions, etc., but all they really care about is selling more product to reward their stockholders & top management. You have a full time job reporting on their hypocrisy. Thanks for keeping us aware.

Again, thank you for spotlighting the corporate cockroaches and the crazies they are creating.

I can (and will) avoid Chevron and Pepsi. Despicable donations by amoral corporate giants. Unfortunately, I have no choice about Verizon. In my area it's either them or AT&T which, if I recall correctly, donates plenty to extremist candidates as well.

Corporations keep playing both sides of the field, talking from both sides of their mouths, and every other “both sides” cliché you can think of. Until they choke off the dollars to the Rethugs, overall party and individual politicians alike, the GOP will continue down its merry path to the destruction of our democracy. 😡

Every plank in the platform is seething with hate, ignorance, and intolerance. Those are three miserable places to spend your life.

I’m surprised that a donation made in 2020 by Pepsi was accepted for payment a year later by the receiving bank. The check would have been stale dated at that point and the transaction rejected.

That means Pepsi replaced the non-negotiable check with a new check in 2021 when they were fully aware of what TX GOP was supporting. Shameful.

How unsurprising that these companies can’t defend themselves. They are guilty and should be boycotted. I haven’t touched the stuff for decades, but people need to know this. I posted the link in Twitter. It’s so good to get reliable, researched news. Thank you so much Judd. If only the public had access to the truth. But we’ve passed a very scary stage where the black & white truth doesn’t phase these Trumplican wingers. When the facts are ineffective for those overtaking the system, it means we’ve reached a very scary and dangerous situation.

Boycott all Pepsi products, make it clear each time you reject their products that you would be ashamed to consume a Pepsi product and they should be ashamed to sell them.

Slap me for thinking this: The silver lining — if enough Republicans keep drinking Pepsi flavored fructose, they won’t be around very long.

Thank you Judd for your excellent reporting, which examines what lies (pun intended) beneath politicians' and corporate pr.

Wonderful work like always. It's so sad to me that Texas Republicans think and act the way they do. It's so embarrassing to try and take society back to the dark ages but they hate equality in any form. These people are stuck in the past and will never change. We need to vote all of them out but they'll cheat like they always do. Filing something about the 2020 election is hilarious. Let's talk about the real fraud and cheating they did in 2016 to elect the dumbest, most illegitimate president of all time. The writing was on the wall they would lie and claim fraud when they lost. That's going to be their strategy for every election they lose from here on out. "It was fraudulent, I didn't really lose" - it's so painfully obvious and they've already done it.

Have a Coke and a smile? Not.

Sounds like sedition to me has once again raised its ugly right wing head. Stephen Miller has been hard at work, I betcha. The corporate 1% has no shame. Greedy and pandering to the GOP is how they got the big 2017 tax cut. They are gaslighting the LBGQT community (and Americans) with ads that mean nothing but hiding the knife set to plunge into the backs of their right to live and exist.

If Texas secedes who would want to stay and who would move there is one scary notion to ponder. But worse. Those who could not escape from there would live a nightmare. Imagine the border would become the trenches. Several big US military bases are there. Would they fall to Texas governing? The shortages imposed on trade, oil production to the rest of the US and the beat goes on...

Voting in 2022 is key.

Our Democracy depends on it!

Let's flip the equation: wouldn't it be interesting to call out the Texas Republican Party for accepting money from corporations that support LGBTQ in their employment practices and PR campaigns? It's pretty routine to criticize Democrats or progressive organizations for taking money from politically devilish sources. Wouldn't it be fun to flood the TRP with emails along the lines of "I thought you said LGBTQ is the devil, so why are you taking the devil's money? I'm mortified at the hypocrisy! Give the money back! cc. Pepsi."

These big corporations try to have it both ways - a splashy ad for Pride Month, PSAs for Black Heritage, Juneteenth - are talking the talk, but MONEY walks the walk. And they give a LOT to Republican efforts and individuals. Of course, they'll tell us they split their "generosity" between Rs and Dems. How about we just get the BIG MONEY$ out of politics. Period. A long slog to be sure, but it CAN be done if politicians run and get elected to serve constituents instead of the BIG MONEY$ guys. A little more moral backbone and a nod to "serving the people" maybe???
