This is one week of Popinfo. One week of corruption beyond belief coupled with a lack of interest by our government to feed starving children in Africa - believable - but in our own communities? How low can we go? Your investigations are fire, and I bet you never imagined that in one week, you could cover more garbage than most administrations could not muster in eight years.
What we are fighting right now is not the corruption but the normalization of corruption. And the belief by some who are not making money, and the absolute belief by those who are that Twump is a hero, not the sick perverted despot that he is and always has been. How the f did we get here, Pogo?
If some one had told me ten years ago that many of the complaints found in our Declaration of Independence listed against King George - his army deporting and firing on colonial inhabitants, stopping vital immigration, abusing local government and killing his own citizens, to name just a few - are now the everyday actions of the real estate mob boss posing as President and his selfempretzling sycophants, I would have hopefully reminded everyone that the future is not predetermined and failure of the democratic experiment will instead be a result of the character of its inhabitants to put up with such corruption, capriciousness, carelessness and chaos.
Well, here we are. Not at the end of it all, but at the crossroads of democracy and dictatorship, at the middle of the collapse. How hopeful can I still be?
Thank you for the reminder that our responsibility to our democracy is to continue to serve its ideals no matter how hopeless we feel. But some mornings, it’s just all so tiring. What gives me strength is my kids. I am reminded that being accountable to my daughter and son and their futures is priority one, because when I am accountable to them, I am accountable to every child.

Great picture: notice how well crowd control is working on the Mall during the Great American State Fair.

Happy Fourth of July.
One should never lose hope. I will continue making phone calls, attending rallies and bridge standouts (it was hot yesterday), writing postcards, etc.
Worst case, I can look my kids in the eye and say: "I tried."

Bingo!
