Thank you for exposing this. Hopefully the people in NY and Maine learn of this.

Great investigative journalism, thank you so much! We so so need election reform.

The sad part about this is there's probably room for legitimate good-faith criticism from the left for these candidates. Conley, for example, seems like your standard liberal touting her military service as her major qualification. This astroturfed GOP charade is clearly not that, though, and if you're not paying close attention, you could easily get caught up in the shell game. Unsettling stuff.

NubbyShober's avatar

The *really* sad part of this is that this GOP astroturfing is likely 100% legal. Completely dishonest, but not meeting the criteria to be fraud.

I'd be interested to know if this sort of skullduggery is mostly or even exclusively a GOP phenom.

Thank you for your continued hard work in exposing these dirty tactics.

So this is the “diabolical” Mike Johnson actually meant.

They can't bury it deep enough to fool you, Judd!🙏🏼

What a great system we’ve achieved in 250 years.

Kristi Lau's avatar

The system isn’t the problem. It’s the education of our electorate. “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” Thomas Jefferson 1816

Marliss Desens's avatar

Agreed. That is why the Republicans are trying their hardest to kill public education not only at the K-12 level but at the college level as well.

Kristi Lau's avatar

We the people have to fight against that at the local level everywhere. I think the louder people are about what we really need; the less power those that are trying to take it away have.

Marliss Desens's avatar

More like a system that Republicans have corrupted, especially since Citizens United.

Ratf*cking continues with Crosby as Segretti. Yet this is evidence of that MAGA is weak, and MAGA-ites are afraid.

Marliss Desens's avatar

Weak and afraid, but with a lot of money. Great that Judd and staff are shining a light on what they are doing. Democrats need to get the word out in those races.

GOP: Proudly turning dirty tricks in the mud since Richard Nixon.

GingerLee's avatar

And there we go.... now the maga right has nothing left except to use 2 words associated with democrats or shall I write with democracy..... LEFT & PROGRESSIVE..... it's possible they have "assumed" that voters on both sides have very low iq's.....pathetic

We have to get these PACs and dark money out of our politics!!! Also, PACs should be required, at least, to be truthful!!!

Dawn Essink's avatar

Thank you Judd for getting to the bottom of this stuff! It’s incredible the length R’s will go to in order to cheat and influence elections to get their way…..D’s need to create ads in these states exposing this corruption!!!!!

RD's avatar

Candidates need to take advantage of this information when these phony PACs are used against them.

Claudia A's avatar

I hate being the basic one but if you put together a simple VERY large font list of these Republican front PACs the entire state would see and it would register! It is insane the lengths they go through to make the entire country red
