The saddest thing is that there is absolutely nothing which will dissuade a Trump supporter. NOTHING. Refusing to disavow white supremacists? No problem. Being heavily in debt to whoever? No problem. Allowing a pandemic to run unchecked through our country, and lying about it to the American public on a daily basis? No problem. Actively undermining our democratic institutions? No problem. Trying to set up a crypto-police state and sending armed, unidentified "federal troops" into American cities? No problem. Having the national guard clear out peaceful racial justice protesters so that you can get a bizarre photo op with a bible (a book I'll guarantee that he's never read) in front of a church? No problem. Kowtowing to Russia/Vladimir Putin every chance he gets? No problem. Starting a trade war with China that has resulted in zero positives for this country? No problem. Funning federal money into the pockets of his family and friends? No problem. Destroying this country's environmental regulations? No problem. Passing a "tax cut" that amounted to a tax increase for many people (especially those in "blue states")? No problem. Pursuing an openly bigoted immigration policy? No problem.

I could go on and on. This is such a disheartening time to be an American.

My post should have read "funneling federal money". Please excuse the typo!

As I writer, I applaud you for correcting your typo!

As another writer I’m almost sure trump’s “funning” our tax dollars into his foreign bank accounts so he can defect to Vlad’s place and be an oilygark.

The Republicans say Trump's failure to condemn white supremacists is unacceptable, but as with his behavior during the debate, what are the consequences? We may yet see the consequences in an electoral sense, but in the meantime, it's a poor consolation.

This is great information and I agree with all the comments I've read thus far. It's shameful what passes for acceptable governing by Trump's base.

I'd love to see a piece done like this on Antifa and how it's NOT at all the group or "organization" the right claims it is. Also, an explanation of BLM so people stop equating those who peacefully protest with those inciting violence in general and violence against police specifically.

Meanwhile back in DC...They line up with Mitch to put another right winger on the SCOTUS bench. The GOP supports all that Trump does. No doubt they secretly and some in public think white supremacists and PB in particular are their Champs on Nov. 4

The Militia groups all over this country have stockpiled ammo, trained to hunt men and stop bleeds. They will join Trump's warriors.

Anitifa is an idea not a group. But you can bet they are losely practicing for the battle to come. Plenty of minority gangs likely are, too.

Trump fans more flames that he has sense enough to understand.

Point of it all. His need to be in power circumvents the citizens of this country. He could give not one damn about this country and I am convinced neither is the GOP.

Trump is a disaster, but one created in the good ol USA after decades of lack of foresight in everything from the economy to our political system. The numbers of ordinary folks here in my area that still support him blow my mind. Kool-Aid? Or just Stupidity and hate? A preference for Fascism over democracy and they are convinced that Democrats are socialists by right wing propaganda.

Nov. Looms large before us. Vote. Be prepared for what will happen if Trump loses.

Has anyone else here had the thought that Trump’s COVID diagnosis is fake - a stunt to downplay the seriousness of the disease when he “recovers” without incident?

Yes. Because I wouldn't put anything past this criminal. He is shameless and morally bankrupt.

GOP condemnations of white supremacy are like Susan Collins’ expressions of deep concern. Meaningless.
