At what point do we just admit that we no longer live in a representative democracy? The Republicans have successfully co-opted the voting process to the point where the government, at least at a federal level, no longer represents the "will of the people".

And the response of way too many people in this country is to yawn and go back to reading about the latest activities of the odious Kardashians..........

The goal of the plutocracy is to minimize the inconvenience of interference from the populace to interfere with their gluttony. The allegiance of judges appointed by conservatives is too often to their masters, the money behind the appointees.

Fortunately, here in Michigan, the influence of right-wing will soon be diluted as the nascent independent redistricting commission unravels gerrymandered bias towards the minority.

Here in NC too I’ll be interested in watching to see how our “new” districts play out in the upcoming primaries and then general election. Am still not sure if things here have been completely resolved as far as the final redistricting is concerned. This state has been thru it’s share of court cases and appeals. Damn republicans have tried their darnedest to get an overwhelming foothold here but thanks to some keen fighters, we’re starting to see a glimmer of hope reappear at the end of what’s been a very long tunnel. Hope springs eternal I guess.

Good luck. NC is the birth place of Jesse Helms. For all the new good people in Charlotte, Research Triangle, the Helms populace and Big Daddy's are still in the process

Wisconsin is a sham. First state to have a legislature to stonewall the Governor like the US Senate does the House. The dairy and farm industry is foreclosed on due to Trump tariffs and on and on. How about those teens throwing white supremacists signs in a viral photo that got no punishment whatsoever. Wisconsin may be ground zero for the fascist takeover. This story sure indicates what I have been saying. The WILL foundation is run by 1%ers.

Most of the unrest, upheaval and division we are seeing ever since the summer before Pres Obama’s ACA has been driven by the big money in the country. To them it’s imperative that we stay divided because that helps them consolidate their power while we “little people” run around trying to put out all the fires they’ve set. It’s distraction that 1% is after. We have got to be better in looking for our humanity and COMMON goals for everyone. We have got to re-learn that COMPROMISE is not a dirty word simply because we all cannot possibly have everything that we want all the time.

Amen. My Daddy was in the Great Depression but recalled a few wealthy families controlled most of America and Americans prior to it. Prohibition was their distraction to the populace. Then the Depression was followed by WWIi and policies set in place like SS by FDR admin. The GI Bill allowed veterans to go to college. My Dad was among them. It established a real middle class in the US. The Greatest Generation had problems like all American History, but that part of being desolate in the Depression and becoming part of something greater in WWII had a lasting impact.

He maintained til his dying day that ultra wealthy would once again regain control. That was 12 years ago. He maintained it would be irrational faith in the stick market again.

Trump tweeted a brag about it hitting an all time high again yesterday. One of the many inflated why's that I cannot quite piece together on the Republican Party.

I agree with Ryan it's the sameness of message coming out that is bothersome from the right. Why? Us it Russia, Saudi driven? These are the questions MSM does not investigate. Why? 1%??
