Once again it's the, "Don't believe your own lying eyes, ears, brown water coming out of your faucets or your bloated utility bills...." because I said so.

Kevin O'Leary tried to make the same claim about a data center in Utah he's backing. They say great minds think alike, but clearly, not-so-great minds think alike as well.

You can't make a millionaire or a billionaire without l-i-a-r. It's hiding but it's there. It's a stretch but get off your duff and stretch before atrophy sets in and our children no longer need to learn to read, or write, or talk good.

Thanks very much for the much-needed laugh this morning.

Kick people off Health care, tax cuts for the rich, data centers are great.

What a platform.

MAGA is desperate. Trump recently told his cult to cheat for him when they vote. His christofascist cult is ok with lying, cheating, and stealing to win. Trump continues to exploit Jesus to get evangelical votes. Like Jim Jones, he will take his cult down with him.

Can you say, "conflict of interest?" Judd and team, thank you for clarifying the origins of this latest disinformation campaign. I see a future where some of the grassroots activists working on blocking data centers in their communities will be arrested and prosecuted by the executive branch, and I'll know how the smear campaign against them got started.

As usual, lies and distortions from the Greedy Old Party on behalf of their Fuhrer. Nothing coming out of the GOP is truth these days.

I have enough difficulty with the flood of news and information, that I cannot imagine what Magats go through. You know when you've been told a lie, you can feel it? These cultists live in a cesspool of lies. How do they connect two dots that are lies and truly do not go together? I guess it gets mushy around the edges, pop another pill, and take another sip of Jesus wine, applaud another bomb dropping on brown skinned children and the world is blurry and good.

“over 70% of Americans “oppose constructing data centers for artificial intelligence in their local area.” Johnson replies with “Forget it Jake… it’s China.” Not in my town.

Good one. I almost corrected you but then I saw what you did.

Well OK then. Will they admit that MAGA Republicans are under the influence of a Russian psyop?

Hundreds of data centers were operating before news about local concern and protests was reported in popular media. Now, people are aware of the positive and negative impacts a data center can have. If public concerns and the warnings from AI developers themselves move governments to act, that's good. I support a slow-down of construction of data centers; even a moratorium. Government regulation and corporate self-control (ha!) must be the outcome of the data center debate. Local governments have been dealing with data center development without much help from state and federal government. States and Washington have been stirred to awareness recently. They have the power to act rightly on AI concerns and must not leave it to fear-mongering Mike and his like to reassure the public.

TC-you are so correct. The rules, laws and regulations never keep pace with what we see happening before our eyes.

Squeaker Mike Johnson believes in invisible men in the sky who tell him what to do and say so are we surprised that he is willing to believe that elves bake his cookies and the Chinese make Americans hate data centers?

I say after the midterms, get Pete Buttegieg in the Speaker role. Not my idea but a casual remark made on a podcast. A remark that needs to blow up everywhere.

"The BPI report’s central claim is that “international actors are working through state media organizations, nonprofit networks, and dark money groups to shape US policy and public opinion on artificial intelligence.”

I'm sure BPI has strong incentives to get rid of "dark money groups." HA!

Good catch. Thanks for the article. My hope is that people who don’t take you articles are not fooled by this hogwash.

Look up the meaning of psyop and you will understand what Trump is trying to pull again.

Data centers are just gigantic computers. My laptop computer lasts about 5 years before it needs replacing. The data centers will be obsolete in a few years and they will look like the abandon shopping malls, except the shopping mall lasted a lot longer than the data centers will last. SI ( specialized intelligence not super intelligence) is a better abbreviation than AI or AGI. Artificial general intelligence is not the future, it is like having a smart phone with every app loaded in the phone, nobody does that. People only install APPs that they use. SI will only do what it needs to do, like folding proteins, helping to find tumors on MRIs, just being a nobel scholar in a field useful to the organization using the SI. People are wise to not want data centers in their towns. They will just end up with an abandoned gigantic building.

Has anyone done a study, or is there even a concern, regarding the impact of noise pollution emanating from these data centers? I wonder how having a constant loud hum running 24/7 would affect people living, working or at school located close to these centers. Any ideas?
