America needs to improve our education system. From a young age through high school, critical thinking and logic need to taught, along with civics and history. And when I say history, I don’t mean glossing over facts that paint our country in a less-than-perfect light. We need to see our mistakes & learn from them. No person or country is perfect. Government needs to fund public education: pay teachers a good salary so teaching attracts the best, fund school supplies & not expect teachers to buy copy paper, etc., make sure that textbooks are factual & not spouting propaganda, & not give our tax dollars to private schools. All public schools, no matter their physical location, should offer the same opportunities. And I could go on & on....

As for Trump & his moronic statements, I automatically think any utterance he makes is a lie. Anyone who supports his pronouncements is sorely lacking in critical thinking. I just hope that November brings change in all branches of our government. It can’t happen soon enough.

Schools also need to stop cutting school libraries and staff them with certified professional school librarians. They’re the ones that teach kids how to use databases and tell the difference between fake and legitimate news, websites, and primary sources. Library aides and volunteers don’t have the training to do that,
