Terrific follow-up on Pepsi, Judd. You are finally getting some credit for your dogged pursuit of the truth.

Ron Johnson should rightly be jailed. What is it with these republican criminals so brazenly criminating while gaslighting the nation and projecting all of their actual behavior on democrats? What will it take for a large enough swath of the people step up and do their damn duty? We are so close to the edge folks. Say, wasn't RJ one of those senators who went to celebrate July 4th with Putin? What a "patriot." We're living in a topsy-turvy world for real!

The USA used to be respected worldwide because people believed in the rule of law and our democracy. Those days are gone, the damage is done and lying to the public is now an accepted policy.

For us to get that reputation back is going to take a massive (Democratic) voter effort because apparently we’re not going to get enough help from the people already in power. Vote progressive.

It is absolutely no surprise that Ron Johnson is a big liar and seditionist. What’s more upsetting is that when these emails, communications are exposed, he’s not arrested and removed from office. We allow seditionists to party on and then we allow them to promote their lies. What other country allows that! For several years we seated the popular vote loser President, but no action was taken to correct this. When Democrats gain full control, even for a couple of years, they squander it by getting in a tizzy over the trivial distractions Republicans throw in.

Ron Johnson, the "friendly face" of the Sedition Caucus.

Pepsi lied. They DID sponsor it by making that donation. Awesome work, and this is the difference between republicans and democrats and why the left will continue to lose the PR battle and more elections in the future. Every democrat needs to talk about Ron Johnson every time they get in front of a camera. Bring up how he tried to subvert the very democracy he claims to represent and care about. This is full-blown traitor activity. Trying to invalidate legal votes because his guy didn't win?! If a democrat were found to have done this, he would be censured or forced to step down by democratic leadership. There will be zero calls from the right for any of that. This is disgusting and he should not be allowed anywhere near government. The fact that he still has support from corporations tells us it's not a fair fight. Corporations only care about $$$ regardless of what their CEO's say. They care about the bottom line and Republicans constantly roll back regulations and makes it easier for these corporations. We all see this and we all know it's happening. But until Democrats decide to attack republicans the way they are attacked themselves, we are going to continue to lose elections and they republicans will continue to foist their religious beliefs on us at every opportunity.

Great examples of getting to the truth. Ron Johnson was caught, could have confessed but instead denied his involvement and then was caught red-handed. Whatever honor and character this man ever had is gone. Long gone.

Pepsi was caught, they contacted you to clear it up, you showed more receipts so they investigated and found out what happened. As much as I’m tempted to think the worst, it makes sense given the pandemic. Their comms people wisely were careful with their reply, though, stating they haven’t sponsored “any state political conventions in 2022” and their last “Texas” contributions were in 2020 to support the national conventions of both parties. I haven’t checked your database to see what else they’re donating to.

Thank you for using facts, for following up, for handling yourself on Twitter the same way you handle yourself here and for always showing us why independent journalism matters.

I wish you would provide a link to the corporations or PAC's so that we could easily send them mail or email to voice our objections to them making these contributions. Specifically a link or address for the executives in charge of these decisions. That would be most helpful.

Well done on the Pepsi mystery, Judd! Also, thanks for the follow-up reporting on Johnson. The MSM seems to have dropped the story, just hinting at his lies, but now you show the receipts. Keep up the great work!!

What about Chevron? Do we assume that they’ve never issued PR statements in any way similar to Pepsi?

Also wondering why Pepsi was so misleading before “solving the mystery”

You would think Ron Johnson’s antics would get him jail time or at least disqualified from office and yet he continues to serve as a Senator? It is no wonder the Senate can’t pass anything with liars and cheats like him. The sad truth is there is little decency In our political system anymore and the loud right wing nut jobs and FOX News have the ears of not only the uneducated but the blue collar folk. Those truly wanting a fair shake in our democratic system seem out of touch since they are lost in old traditions, too compassionate and don’t play hard ball. I have no idea what the answer is however I am weary we are losing this battle…

My eyes are rolling so far back into my head that I think I'll have a seizure.

I would like to say that both government and corporate leaders are acting like children, but in all seriousness, that's unfair to children.

I know this is an embarrassingly naive reaction to the endless brazen lying of Ron Johnson, but how does he sleep at night?

Note that it is Not the Pepsi logo on the sign.

That somewhat substantiates their claim that the Party was recognizing past donations because if they were sponsors surely Pepsi would have wanted them to use their logo. Surprised the TRP didn’t copy and paste from somewhere on the web.

One word to describe Ron Johnson: unfkgbelievable

Lying should be listed in every Republican platform as no. 1 on their issues

Apparently, Pepsi needs better accounting managers. Surely the checked was cashed in 2021.

There is a copy of it in their corporate bookkeeping in donations.

Mystery solved. They apparently are not good record keepers or they subscribe to my Republican platform suggestion.
