We go after Republicans when they take money from questionable sources. It's only fair to do so here as well.

Whoever received tainted funds, now needs to be under the microscope. Political affiliation is not a factor. Only acceptance of what we now know to be cash from a questionable source (at best).

PS: Was it Bankman-Freed or Bankman-Fried?

Great story. I noticed that you stated that the majority of the funds went to democrats yet when I look at amounts listed to individual and pacs it looks like mostly republicans. Do you have a specific tally of how much was allocated to each party? Thank you.

Good job. Now for my response.

Eye roll.

Nothing so needs reforming as Campaign financing.

Imagine the relief if all wealthy corporations and 1 % individuals were unable to influence politicians on both sides of the aisle by lining pockets.

Eye roll again. Crypto currencies are mesmerizing like gambling in my opinion.

Same principles of get rich quick and other schemes where very few succeed.

When a local grocery put in a Crypto machine, I looked at the toy machine sitting along side it. The one with the giant claw for stuffed animal grabbing where my kids spent their quarters, seldom suceeded, and if they did, the toy was hard as a rock and cost 10 x's its worth. I thought "Same thing."

How right I was at that moment and didn't know it.

This is an opportunity to put all political donations of large amounts under the microscope. But it won’t happen that way. This will be spun by opposition elements into an example of how Democrats steal elections or buy elections. It will have no meaningful or honest or even salutary effect because of the climate of opportunism surrounding all things political. Both parties are fouled by money and only focus on gaining and maintaining power. We are hanging together as a country by a thread.

Doesn’t it warm the heart to see the bipartisanship of a major R donor and major D donor uniting to successfully screw everyone? Allegedly of course ….

Worth a look at the addle-brained politicians who took the crypto and ran! They're as dumb or dumber than the crypto bros who foisted this con on them, PACS, and celebs who took the bait. Now they have to switch and eat crow, give back or donate worthless contributions to worthwhile charities. And Kirsten Gillibrand's name keeps coming up at the WORST of times. First she ruined Al Franken's career, now she's ruined her own! These money grubbing pols and PACS should be made examples of. They are the prime reason for getting big sloshing buck$ out of politics. I hope Judd continues to name names and call them out. I just wish there were some legal means of retribution. Hope crypto finally meets its demise at the hands of the legal system.

If these fundraising arms of the Democratic and Republican parties don't return that money, it will only further erode the already-shaky notion that either is the party of working-class America.

The term high class whores comes to mind. Except it's citizens who end up getting screwed.

You're right. I missed it. I usually use smileys or something since humor can be difficult in writing.

Good reporting. I wonder why donations to charity. I would hope that money could be recouped by investors somehow. Logistics of that I dunno, maybe bankruptcy court establishes an account?

And as someone else said, I hope PI will follow up on those who received donations but have yet to determine what to do, if anything.
