As Jim Banks sits on the Armed Services Committee, the corporations listed (with the exception of Booz and Duke) are defense contractors and the the contributions are meant to bribe er ah influence him.

He also sits on the Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization which is moving the VA from a VA developed EMR (which I worked on for 30 yrs and is world class) to a commercial package (Cerner) that is a complete disaster. The movement to Cerner is managed by Leidos which is the merger of SAIC and Lockheed Martin IT. With only one medical center converted so far there are cost overruns and project delays approaching two years. I was not aware of the Banks/Lockheed/PAC money connection.

Judd, was there PAC money directly from Leidos going to Banks ?

Let Darwin sort it out. I'm so sick of the idiocy of the politicization of a vaccine. You can get the vaccine at ANY pharmacy now and at this point there are no lines! You are talking about a 1/2 commitment at most. Heck, you could do it on your lunch hour.

Merrick Garland still needs to either step it up or take a hike. He has wasted most of seven months looking imperious. Going after GA for voter rights is the biggest thing he has done in mho, but many more states have implemented similar, go after them, too. He he could also be prosecuting people like this guy for lying and Jan. 6 investigations into Congressmen and women who may have aided insurrection. Not one person has been charged with insurrection. (BTW Jim Jordan on the investigation committee in Congress???) As for the corporate PAC money still flowing into GOP pockets, the Corporate world isn't going to stop unless there is campaign finance reform.

Paid leave would be great for vaccinations. However when my daughter had Covid, which she caught at work, she wasn't paid the whole time she was off sick and that in the restaurant industry. My son worked from home while they (he and the wife) were sick and was paid. Note worked while sick with Covid, just from home. They were in 2 different industries in 2 different locations. The problems with anti vax here still revolve around the initial hoax theories, that it's no worse than a cold and God forbid they are alternating your DNA and there's a nano sub in the shot.

They are sitting around waiting for those of us vaccinated to turn into Zombies and/or class action lawsuits. They drank the Fox News Kool Aid and it stuck in their veins and has been much more dangerous than a Nano Sub.

The wide eyed stares I get when I state the fact that unvaccinated are the ones dying with the rise in Delta variant. Yes a few folks here vaccinated with Pfizer have had break through infections. Lasted 3 days with cold like symptoms for the couple they cite most. And why did they catch it? Because GOP Trump loving Rube Doe refuses to get vaccinated. Changing paid leave would be good but way too many aren't getting it because they have a firm belief that vaccines are worse than Covid. SMH.

For a lot of people, giving them paid time off for vaccination is a kind of "snow day." Give us our snow days!

The polling on vaccinations flies in the face of what seems to be the prevailing rhetoric regarding getting vaccinated: that the unvaccinated are lazy or insensitive or what-have-you. Especially if someone has multiple other obligations (jobs, kids, etc.), a lack of time and compensation for getting vaccinated, it's understandable why they might not have made one or both appointments.

Every person I know who isn't getting vaccinated is doing it for political reasons aka Watching Fox News. The Ignorance is staggering. They aren't too busy, they just think they will be sterilized or they will turn magnetic, pure idiocy.

You can get it in your grocery store pharmacy on a Friday or even stop for a vaccine going in to see a ball game. Like Fauci said, Polio would have gone on and on in today's vaccine mentality.
