Praise to Popular Information and your ability to learn and unravel the criminality of the Trump regime. Do you remember that Elon Musk used Romania as a test case in changing the outcome of their election? We should.

Of course we cannot be surprised that the "The Trump Organization's partner on the project, SDC Imobiliare, is currently enmeshed in a complex corruption investigation." These countries that used to envy and admire how the USA functioned in depth all over the world can now witness how to get a piece of our corrupt action--that's what Trump is good at.

Mainstream media is not reporting. Period. Owners have either been bought by Trump loyalists or they are afraid of the man. It’s ludicrous and devastatingly harmful to us all. In time, they will all succumb, unless, they collectively unite to call out the lies and report on the facts. I’m not holding my breath.

I unsubscribed from the WaPo after they failed to endorse Harris, but my subscription doesn't end for a few more months. I've continued to read it, and honestly, they have been pretty good at calling out the administration's corruption. I hate Bezos, but I may ultimately re-subscribe.

Wapo still calls Trump’s statements "falsehoods" and not "lies." Lies are intentional. Falsehoods can be mistakes.

Falsehoods is good enough for me. It means the same thing. It does not mean “mistakes.”

We should support the MSM. They do basic reporting. MAGA despises the MSM.

The books they will write... The enormity of Trump's corruption, normalized by all of us because it is too darn diffficult to look at one thing while there are a hundred things vying for our attention, will fill volumes and, on a quiet day in the future, we will read how we "shared" and "liked" and "posted" our opinions while the ground shifted under us in ways that will never be the same. The tale of Peter Hegseth will be a thick chapter dripping with vodka, bombs and white supremacist tattoos. Pam Bondi's story will leave us all itchy. Kash Patel's fairy tales must end up in a prison somewhere. Tom Homan will be his cellmate. Stephen Miller will be the new face of American Nazi party from Brazil. Melania's closet will spill with her little secrets, her pills, her injections, the rest of the Trump family's chapters will be oily and nasty and redacted until the court cases are settled...never.

Great beach read if there is such a thing as a beach, or reading.

The bigger scandal, if it's possible, is that Congress no longer represents the people and certainly not ethical government. Where's the media in that?

Saves money, but doesn't solve the problem. I recommend keeping them and sending letters complaining about poor coverage of important issues. Congress is no longer representing the people. That's a big deal. Bigger than foreign interference, even.

Well, Todd Blanche made a request to the court to unseal them. Only the court can decide this is an exception to the secrecy of grand jury proceedings. If they don’t, he’ll blame the courts for not releasing them. As you say there won’t be much in them to see. There would likely be redactions. So either way not satisfying his promises.

Meanwhile, the administration is holding back financial info which Sen. Wyden keeps requesting. Under the Biden administration Senate Finance Committee staff went to the Treasury Dept to review documents & there are more to be had. The WH claims otherwise. Although it is mostly ignored, it has been reported by an array of outlets from the NY Post, NYT, to Public Broadcasting affiliates across the country.

“Treasury’s Epstein file details 4,725 wire transfers adding up to nearly $1.1 billion flowing in and out of just ONE of Epstein’s bank accounts. If you ask me, that’s 4,725 potential lines of investigation right there.”

Here’s his 1 page statement.

Media orgs like NY Times don't care about the news, the truth, or preserving our democracy. They only care about making money. If it doesn't sell, they don't care. They are only currently pushing (somewhat) the Epstein story (ya know, the one about a pedophile president) because it's selling.

PS - I cancelled my NY Times back during his first term. They are 100% complicit. At least Fox News makes it clear they support Trump. NYT is much more devious in their support.

I am almost speechless at the continuing quiet from the so-called liberal media/fake news groups! It seems that they are all so worried about profit that they are ok with any atrocity against our democracy. Journalists are supposed to be a stopgap measure to help the public stay informed. They seem to be all Trump propaganda machines at this point. I guess they are all Ferengis at this point!.

Corporate media can only handle one Trump story at a time. The Epstein story won't go away so they have no bandwidth for the financial scandal.

Honestly, watching MAGA-world tying itself in knots over the Epstein scandal has been like Christmas come early. Polling of only 3% of Americans satisfied with how the investigation has been going. The schadenfreude has been almost unbearably delicious.

Elon, for all of his enormous odiousness, did the country a solid with that tweet about Trump being in the Epstein files. Which is almost certainly a given, as they were best friends for over a decade before Epstein's pedo racket caught up with him in Florida.

The incompetence of this cover up is mind boggling. Bondi, Patel and Bongo could have made this go away a long time ago by either fabricating or extracting dirt on Democrats and other famous people and releasing that while still keeping the Trump dirt under wraps. Perhaps Trump is so endemic to the files that he cannot be edited out no matter how hard anyone tries.

Expand full comment
NubbyShober's avatar

Fabricating carries it's own risks. Take the recent Wired forensic analysis of the released NYC jail footage of the night Epstein was offed...err, topped himself. Supposedly a secure government recording, that had been crudely edited to cover a 3-minute gap, with multiple splice points.

That, and his shattered hyoid--which happens in 90% of murders, but only 10% of suicide hangings. Epstein's brother has some clips on YouTube where he states all of the reasons why he thinks the financier was murdered.

But I agree with you that Bondi and company really botched this...coverup.

Other than Hanneke Wasserman, not one of you has offered any actions (minus canceling the NYT) that you will take to thwart the Trump fascism (sure you read Judd's missives, that is good).

Praying (if the reader truly means it) for the death or stroke of another is extremely dangerous to oneself. One took about energy, karma, etc

So how about participating in a Good Trouble Lives On (John Lewis) event. As of last count, per K. Starling (We the People Dissent), 1350+ events are planned for today. And nearly 1700 this weekend. Find one here:

Here is an update from Starling about today from last week:

You ask what will I will be doing (other than challenging this community). Also yes I do support the ACLU.

I will be a marshal tonight in Raleigh at the 50501 NC event on the grounds of the NC Capitol. We expect no issues.

On Sunday the Triangle Unified Bridge Brigade will be bannering on at least 26 overpasses/bridges across Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill.

https://www.mobilize.us/durhamcountydemocrats/event/812094/

Instead I will be traveling down to I95 to help out in a many state bannering effort. This OP Overpass Undefeated Against Tyranny event is also being held in solidarity with the Triangle bannering event. We will bannering bridges Benson to south Fayetteville:

I might be wrong, but I understand that the Trump companies take on virtually no risk, and bear no expense, in these “Trump Tower” deals; they simply license the use of the Trump name and in return receive large up-front payments. They are not, to my understanding, putting up the funds for construction or actually building anything, nor do they risk losing money if the project later turns out to be unprofitable.
