Keep reminding ourselves, having billionaires is a policy decision.

He postures a lot, the big man on social media campus. My children's great, great grandfather was a Rabbi. He came from Austria in 1911 and went back to live there in the 1930s dying before the Kristalnacht. All the family there perished in the Holocaust to follow.

Musk is a product of Apartheid where the family purse was filled.

He has run Twitter into the ground. X by the way has been used as a neo nazi symbol based on the swastika.

My Daddy said the best way to get a man's attention was not a kick to the Gonads, but a hit in the wallet.

Musk is an example of this principle.

He's still a rich man but not as rich. His buddy Putin whom he visited prior to the purchase of Twitter and the likes of his right wing friends included, have had a tough year. And I for one, hope it gets worse.

Actually he is still very rich, currently at $257B. The next in line, Bernaud Arnault is only at $198B! https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires

A guy like him never has enough, does he? LoL.

Once it's past enough to where you get a significant increase in standard of living, money becomes points in a game. And all the uberrich are obsessed with winning it, at any societal cost.

And he is still regularly shooting extremely polluting rockets into space encircling the world with control of internet access, has already benefitted Russia’s advancing armies, and is actively and actually impacting the earth with space crap.

Musk. Another super-rich sociopath, another day.

I am grateful and better informed because of Popular Info.

Let’s not forget that Musk was raised in the South African apartheid that imprisoned Nelson Mandela for 2 decade Antisemitism is not the only hatred he embraces. Bigotry is in his DNA.

Bingo.. As the great Maya Angelou once said, “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” If only we would’ve heeded that advise in 2016. 😔

Exactly!

Thank you for shining a light on this situation with these depressing and hate-filled facts.

I go to Simon Rosenberg's "Hopium Chronicles" for a change of pace. I bet Elon Muskrat hates him too.

I mean, that last name!!!

Time to tax the billionaires (like we used to!)

Here's where to start:

Why does anyone participate in "X"? I for one never have, seeing it as an anonymous rant field. Don't you all agree it's time to step away, publicly, so ALL advertisers see the exodus, and follow suit?

Well, as Sarah Kendzior would say, "don't cede ground in an information war." Musk wants to destroy Twitter as a place for progressives to organise. I've got so much out of it in recent years, including finding Popular Information, and still do. Only last night I was glued to Bandi Buchman's excellent up to the minute reporting at the Tarrio sentencing. It remains a great tool, if you know how to use it.

I tried twitter for a while, but left when it was clear that it was, like FB, a cesspool.

I use it everyday to post nasty memes about Musk & to respond to Lauren Boebert’s daily line of BS by posting the website to make contributions to her 2024 opponent, Adam Frisch

I don't know what is truly in Elon Musk's heart, but it doesn't matter. Twitter/X was already subpar in terms of allowing far-right disinformation campaigns. Under Musk, though, it's a veritable cesspool of conspiracy theories and hate.

Opened an account with Twitter years ago. Looked around a bit but never used it. His approach to " free speech" there ( on x), assures I'll never use it

What is in Elon’s heart?! Dust. Nothing animate. No human attributes. Cold, clinically cynically ill.

I will NEVER buy a Tesla, and I closed my Twitter account when em bought it. I regret that people buy his vehicles and support his other endeavors.

Thank you, Judd, for keeping him squirming.

Expand full comment

Yep, I bought an electric car this year and Tesla was never an option.

Expand full comment

I own a Tesla, but bought before I knew the depths of Musk’s monstrous way of thinking. He is not a Tesla founder. He is the key investor.

It’s a bit sad to discredit the brilliant founders (there are two)because their source of funding is from an obnoxious lunatic.

Thank you for the info. I agree it is unfortunate. Nevertheless, I do not want to help finance anything he is associated with. I am not happy that the US space program uses his Space X rockets, and has to grovel to keep the Ukrainian military connected via his Starlink communication satellites.

Expand full comment

I agree! I love my Tesla but if I was buying it in the last year or two, I likely would have moved on..unless they threw him off the Board. This is where we see the danger of allowing any one individual from getting to a billion, and multi-billions is pure insanity. Our politicians watched it all and were enticed by lobbyists left & right.

There are more options for electric cars today. When I bought, it still was quite a cut above.

Musk is a lunatic on a similar level to trump.

Being a billionaire doesn't make you an expert in every field. Apparently these billionaires think because they got lucky in one facet of their lives, they are experts on everything. We already knew this, but trump proved it as president. The fact that someone so stupid and lacking any decorum or decency was able to steal the office scares me that it could happen again. He better go away for life or this country is doomed. Musk is evil and we shouldn't be listening to him on anything.

Spot on, Jake!!!

The current of hate is swift, hopefully the US citizens will choose a different path next November. The time is almost here to hold those who perpetrate this evil upon us to be held accountable. Please feel free to join all of us in righting the wrongs these evil people have forced upon us. In Solidarity.

I deleted my twitter account the week Musk took over and every day I feel better about that decision. Monstrous man, dangerous platform.

I deleted mine a month ago and don't miss it at all. Musk is the turd in the punchbowl.

Elon is a complete liar. I’ve been banned from twitter since 2021 (for responding to an awful pro-life republican politician with a meme that used the word cunt). So the stated, “Musk decided to grant "general amnesty" to all previously suspended Twitter users” is completely untrue. It only cemented the fact that Musk is only interested in hateful right wing imbeciles.

We enjoy a great supply of op-ed writers, journalists, and analysts, but where are the psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and social workers to comment on the mental stability/behavior of so many of the very dangerous people, the likes of Putin, Orban, Erdogan, Trump, Gym Jordan, MTG, Greg Abbott, DeSantis, Musk, Kim Jung Un, and thousands of other vile, mendacious socio and psychopaths? Mostly crickets when we really need a concise grasp of how dangerous these people are and so nothing will ever be seriously considered as solutions for the rest of us relatively normal folks of the world. Understanding the threat has never been more critical to peace on earth.
