In the days before January 6, Trump demanded that Republicans in Congress reject the results of the Electoral College and install him for a second term. 147 Republicans complied. On the day of the vote, a mob incited by Trump — and the lie that Trump won the 2020 presidential election — attacked the United States Capitol.
There will be no commission. Why in the world would the Republicans agree to an investigation which will end up pointing the finger back at their Orange Asscactus leader and so many members of their own party? They are far too terrified of their Dear Leader and his braying hordes of supporters to ever permit that.
What can you do but laugh at this point? The fact that these republican cowards still bow down to trump is pathetic. How could anyone support such weak and fragile hypocrites? How many commissions were formed about Benghazi? How many *years* did republicans waste on that boondoggle? But now they're opposed to a commission on Jan. 6th because it would make them look bad? HAHA! Of course it makes you look bad, the former president and his cowardly enablers incited a mob that attacked the capital and resulted in deaths. Anyone who had anything to do with that should never be allowed to work in government again. There is no end to their hypocrisy and denying the facts of every situation. These are traitors to America and they all belong in prison.
The apparent bottom line is that the established Republicans are determined to hold onto power and money with no regard for the well-being of our government or any portion of humanity. They have no appreciation of our history that produced this Democracy. Rule of law? Why not just let Merrick Garland and the DOJ handle this. 50-50 on the Commission representation is just worthless because nothing will get done. Another fine mess and the Dems aren't able to handle it.

For some reason him going north for the summer makes me believe he has info that nothing is going to happen to him. And that is the root of all of his ability to control the GOP. Unplug that underlying power source, whoever and whatever it is, and Trump is out of the picture. It is the same power source that keeps Kavanaugh's debt payoffs secret, the soldier-like unmarked troops in DC protests from being named, Trump staffers, cabinet and minions not showing up for subpoenas to Congress with no penalties ... And an insurrection against the Capitol that is looking like it won't be investigated.
You gotta believe that the Mc Bros Kev and Mitch are gonna stack this with insurgents bent on overtaking the commission with destruction of its original goals.
