On Monday, Popular Information reported that the Manatee County School District instructed teachers to make their classroom libraries inaccessible to students, or risk felony prosecution. The directive was issued as part of an effort to comply with new laws and regulations championed by Governor Ron DeSantis (R). It was based on the premise that teachers are using books to "groom" students or indoctrinate them with leftist ideologies.
I got kicked off twitter years ago for insulting one too many right wing nutters. (Never hurt their feelings, snowflakes all) May Twitter die a slow, painful and for Elon Musk, expensive death.
As long as we subscribe to the right versus left paradigm, we will not see that the real struggle is the people versus the 1% who are pulling the strings. You started to see this at Davos. Keep digging and maybe look up Whitney Webb to see the big picture. She pulled on the string of Jeffrey Epstein, and followed it through to two well documented books.
The silencing of legitimate journalism on Twitter is undoubtedly concerning, but I'm still stuck on DeSantis's actions. Pretending to care about indoctrination and grooming when Matt Gaetz is serving in your state...it would be laughable if it weren't affecting kids' education.
I walked away from Twitter the day after the self-proclaimed "Chief Twit" allowed professional Jew-hater Andrew Anglin back on. Didn't delete my account, but I have not gone on the website since, and won't even click on links that people send to me if they are from Twitter. I refuse to give that a--hole the website traffic.
How easily information is twisted into misinformation! It is a cruel irony that we live in the so-called information age. Thanks for working to inform.
Musk fired qualified personnel that monitored Twitter, so where are “Community Notes” coming from? Accuracy isn’t an issue--Musk is simply targeting investigative journalists. He’s gone from outright bans to throwing shade.
That’s why I quit Twitter. The playing field is tilted and disinformation is baked in.
I never liked Twitter for a hundred reasons but I always kept a profile in case I decided I needed it to get the word out about my work. Twitter is an evil because it seems like one must have it for marketing, but in doing so, one feels compromised as if they just swam in the tears of a million children whose intellect is being retarded by a mad man.
This really upsets me. I want nothing to do with Twitter.
Anyone who has been through a censorship debate knows how the "vetting" process can be manipulated. The contextual note added by Twitter actually supports your original story. Sadly, this is not just an artifact of Twitter's current thumb-on-the-scales editorial policy, but it is also representative of how difficult, if not impossible, it is to have a meaningful debate about serious issues via brief snippets of text.
Musk has proven himself time and again to be an impulsive extremist in his statements. He also believes that all his employees should still be in the office working at 9pm so he doesn’t care about them or their kids. Nothing he says should be taken seriously and the longer he stays in charge of Twitter the more damaging it will be for the platform.
Hey, as they say, the truth hurts. De Santis needs to be called out on his insane stance on AP-African American History, once again, the truth hurts. As to Musk and Twitter, much like Facebook, hide their head in the sand, but rake in millions…talk about fleecing
OK, IM paying for PI subscription. Twitter has been a source of toomuchinfomation and NOISE for me to follow. But someone must hold the "free speech" owner of Twitter to account. That Free Speech is for ALL. E pluibus unim.
Twitter can't handle the truth

And I hope you are posting this follow up story on Twitter as I write. Excellent reporting! Pass the popcorn. And, thank you.
I always thought that Elon Musk was a bit of a chump, but now that he's dropped his shielding cloak, my disdain knows no boundaries.
Facts have a liberal bias.
I quit Twitter. Really enjoying the community at Post.

Elon musk isn't brilliant and he doesn't have all the answers.
