Every hand that they use to point a finger has three fingers pointed back at them. Every accusation is an admission of guilt.

Republicans are just much better at lying and propaganda. The Republican Congress--both houses--know or strongly suspect that Trump is a long-term KGB asset. They know he's "...fascist to the core." They know he's insanely corrupt. But their hunger for power wins every time over their patriotism and loyalty to America.

But Trump's people are actually clever accusing Dems of corruption regarding stock trading. Knowing that CORRUPTION hearings will be a centerpiece of the Democratic Congress come January, Trump wants to muddy the waters. Which makes it imperative that Dems in January pass a comprehensive ban on stock and crypto trading for ALL elected officials--including Trump.

Two things: No elected officials should be allowed to trade stocks. You wanna trade stocks? Don't run for office. Period.

This MAGA spending and fabrication and lying and disinformation is the reason why the entire house of cards will fall. The center cannot hold when the center is made of bullshit. We are all being conned and if a democrat is trading illegally, throw him out. See number 1 above.

Repeal Citizens United, enact the laws that prohibit Congresspeople AND the President from any management of their personal finances. Make serving in the Government a public service, not just a way to pad your own bank account.

That way, no term limits would be necessary. People would serve a few years and go back to the private sector.

Plus, we might actually get public servants!

Adam's avatar

Exactly. Unlike the R's at least the D's have thrown someone out for breaking the rules even if their vote is sorely needed. See Al Franken and Bob Menendez. If they had been R's? George Santos all over again!

No Going Back PAC. No going back to what? $3 gas?

No going back to feeding and helping the poor, educating our children, lifting up immigrants, welcoming strangers, embracing multiculturalism, righting the wrongs in a fair system of justice? No going back to equal rights for all? No going back before America had concentration camps and a secret army being paid for with my tax dollars with impunity to terrorize anybody? No going back to a president who doesn't shit his diapers, fall asleep in meetings and spend more time on social media than most teens? Nah.

No going back to the national prosperity and rising economic circumstances we had under Biden and Obama, i.e. no going back to Constitutional government rather than an autocracy caused by a Supreme Court and Congress who readily bow and kiss the autocrat's... feet, and let him literally get away with murder (of Caribbean fishing boat staff and Iranian school children).

Of course what they're implying to their racist, xenophobic, white supremacist, xtian nationalist, MAGA base is that we won't go back to respecting and granting equal rights to GLBTQ folk, women, and people of color, and treating immigrants with respect - you know, actually being Christian. Of course they'll be happy to "go back" to doing all of that if they can make a healthy profit doing it.

Wait...."No Going Back" wasn't this the title of Kristi Noem's memoir? We're not "going back" to that, right?!

This is the thing about corrupt behavior- everyone engaging in the corruption means the corrupt behavior can be called out for political advantage. “well they do it too” isn’t a compelling defense. And the public is pissed off.

As always facts matter, but not to MAGAts.

None of these people (AKA assholes) should be trading stocks! I don’t care which party they purport to belong! Get out of the market or GET OUT!! PS: they should all be investigated for insider trading!!

I find it interesting that two of the Democrats I dislike the most - Moskowitz and Suozzi - are targets. Adding Golden to the mix would work. These Congressmen are Republican-lite and haves voted numerous times with them.

If I could pay tRump $100,000 per month, I too, could get his early posts (15 minutes) before everyone else, for making money on the stock exchange. 1000 payees per year is $1.2 billion.

JenneJ's avatar

You will probably have to pay for this "service" once, because after that you will be so stinking rich you can "skim the fee" off the top of all the earnings you will get profitting from your insider knowledge, which is still illegal.

1. We all know rules & guidelines don’t apply to the current President. Confirmed by the SC.

2. Distortions in advertising is the playbook in Republican/PAC advertising— they are just taking it to a new level.

3. The viewers of these advertisements are gullible, misinformed and easily swayed…aka low hanging fruits. Hopefully they have heard of Trump’s warnings against voting by mail + will not have the energy to get off the couch to vote in person 🤞🤞

4. I’m worried that NH voters are mesmerized by Sununu’s piercing blue eyes, and put off by Pappas sad puppy dog look? Just Vote Blue New Hampshire! Maine too!

Marliss Desens's avatar

Yes, too many voters go for the superficial. Indeed, corporate media covers candidates based on looks, clothes, hobbies rather than focusing on their ideas and values or whether they are a good fit for the job.

Hypocrisy seems to be an essential characteristic of most public life, but in politics it is often blatant.

Robyn Boyer's avatar

Want to stop these hypocritical, lying ads? Ban stock trades for Congress. Easy, peasy. Sort of help them save themselves.

Trump & Co constantly hold up epic corruption *as a badge of honor* that his supporters are supposed to thrill to…Trump & MAGA Inc think corruption is the highest form of winning.

You’re scaring me Adam. LOL You have imitating “ trump speak” down to an art form, granted an imitation of Trump’s very poor (“Brooklyneze”) English, he apparently never quite left behind; even after attending expensive boarding schools.

My grandfather ( of Norwegian immigrants,) was a ship (interior finishes) & dock carpenter from the poor side of Brooklyn & he spoke better English than Trump, with far less education. As a child I recall questioning him about these numbered drawings he built hi fi’s & other electronic items from. “Schematics” he told me, that he attempted to discuss with me (at 5 or 6) some of the finer points. But the amazing things he built, often created out of his mind. A huge wooden dollhouse with lux detergent bottle caps as light covers, that was so big & heavy, it rolled around on dolly wheels, with carpet & tile finishes from his house. Toggle switches for the lighting. An act of love for my 7th birthday that he drove to Ct from Staten Island NY, atop his car, wrapped in huge quilts. Bet trump never made anything like that for a grandchild of his. More likely gifting a set of golf clubs, an interest of his…

Hahahaha! At time, I scare meself there Bonnie! Hahahaha. Thank ya.

It's interesting that these ads are being run against conservative corporate Dems like Moskowitz and Suozzi. In the long run, the Democratic caucus would be greatly improved without them...
