On June 27, Popular Information reported that Match Group, which operates Match, Tinder, Hinge, OK Cupid, and other popular dating sites, had donated $137,000 to the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA).
Judd, It must be nice to see evidence of how much your reporting matters. Controlling where money goes and getting rid of the deadly dangerous rhetoric put out by MAGAs should be our primary focus.
Great work, as always! It's astonishing that with just a three-person staff, and no ads, and no corporate money behind you, you routinely outdo some of the biggest publications and some progressive ones with dedicated investigative reporters. Proud to be a supporter of Popular Information.
Great job as usual, Judd. I do have a question for the group. I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I'm worried about the communications staff for this administration, and the Democratic party. We had great news about the jobs situation in June, and that needs to be shouted from the rooftops. It seerms that the Dems lack the basics about how to properly to work the spin game? Am I being irrational?
My $.02, I don’t think you’re being irrational. The Dems don’t seem to have a commitment to focus their communication during interviews or guest appearances, and there is no mouthpiece (like Fox is for Rs) to issue constant reminders to a captive audience. Some days it feels like the Ds don’t even try.
It gets so frustrating. I keep thinking "any day now, someone from the Dems will step forward..." And every day I'm disappointed. But...we have to do what WE can in the meantime...hang in there everyone!
Particularly in regard to Match's new CEO's comment claiming not to know about the RAGA donations until learning from Popular Information, it makes me wonder how many companies are in that situation; the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing... Who authorizes the donations companies make? If not the CEO, then the CFO? The Board of Directors? Who??
Thank you for your work and I appreciate this from companies. Better yet: they could donate $137,000 to the Democratic Attorney General's Association--or more. Companies act like they can't make up for what they did--but they can. There are only two parties and they are taking opposite positions on this issue. Make a point.
Thank you, I'll share this with my informed and activist coterie of friends. One question: do we know where Bernard Kim, the new CEO of Match, stands on this matter? So glad that you're taking some kind of vacation--I'm sure we all support you in Re-Creation and diversions for your health!
What these people can't seem to grasp is that they are fools to use their bible (buy-bull) to justify this attack on women's rights and the health of every woman of childbearing years.
That is if they are real about what that vile book of lies says.
They need to look at several verses, like; Genesis 2:7, Exodus 21:22-25, Isaiah 13:18, or maybe 2 Kings: 8:12 where their "God" gladly kills fetuses and says that it needs to be done to prove adultery (among other "reasons") and it also says that life IS NOT SACRED. God hates you, hate him back.

You’re the real thing, Judd, and you’re making a positive, substantive difference. Please don’t stop.

Great job, again, Judd! Proud to be a paid subscriber.
It is disappointing to see their response is to end donations to both sides.

Judd - You ROCK. You create direct impact. Thank you.
It's always important to shame them on social media. But be sure to thank them on social media as well!
