The heroes of the Fourth Estate are coming to our rescue. While the legacy media gets stodgy and loses its edge, a new generation of gumshoe reporters is digging and writing. Substack has freed them from editors and the C suite - they are telling the stories that need to be heard. Keep digging, Judd.

Good one Judd. Gave it to old Sexton right smack in the kisser! He sees no evil, no infractions or harassment, no nothing and he approves his own thievery at the tax-free rate no less. He needs to be removed from office, as I doubt that he will willingly step down.

Sexton isn't the only one and say, did you hear about Gorsuch and HIS murky real estate deals? The RW party of constant criminals parties on.

Oh yeah! Gorsuch is a card carrying member of the RW party of constant criminals. What else would one possibly expect?

I read the article and recognized the “public/private” euphemism for what it is and does but don’t see the Neil Gorsuch connection or misuse of funds to his benefit. I’m interested to know where he fits in and how he benefits.

Leah, respectfully, I think the facts of the Gorsuch matter, including timing of the sale of his home, make it plain how blatant this reporting omission is.

Gorsuch's home, which lingered on the market for 2 years, suddenly and miraculously found a buyer nine days after he's confirmed to SCOTUS. That buyer happened to be CEO of a massive law firm that routinely has business before the nation's highest court. After the sale and payment was made, with sales documents referencing Gorsuch's company, Walden Group, not Gorsuch, Old Neil manages to remember that he got proceeds of $250-500K from a sale his company made, but forgot to disclose that they sold his home for almost $2M to the CEO of a law firm that would love to benefit from some of his favorable opinions. He and the Dishonorable Clarence Thomas are vying for top dishonorable mentions. The only reason Thomas wins out is the sheer length of time and volume of graft.

I can't claim every liberally leaning judge is pristine but more of these SCOTUS right-wing guys seem to be on the take.

Yes I’ve been doing my own reading on Gorsuch, didn’t recognize any connection in the link.

Relating to the link that Adam posted, the principal owner of Gorsuch Haus, Jeff Gorsuch, is Neil's cousin. Jeff fronted a concern in 2019 that bought the rights to an acre of prime land at the base of a ski mountain in Aspen for $10M with a $4M taxpayer subsidy. The pitch to municipal leaders was that they planned to develop a $200M hotel, and their locally based concern would own and operate it. Locals narrowly approved the sale by under 30 votes. Fast forward to 2022, not that long after the land sale closes, and Jeff and his group sold the land rights to a Russian billionaire for over $76M, after lobbying locals hard to allow them to buy it under the guise that he and the other local 'small businessmen' would be the ones managing the development, ownership and business operations from end to end. The link I posted below relays how the locals, residents and officials alike, felt hoodwinked. I think that Adam's point is that duplicity and shady practices in land deals seems to run in the family.

I concur. Forgive me if I am uninformed, but I see "Jeff Gorsuch," not "Neil."

I am getting a better return on investment with my monthly subscription to your Substack than any other investment I have.

Maybe “truth, justice and the American way” wasn’t just a lead-in to my favorite TV show in the 50s. Superman’s alter ego IS a mild mannered reporter, but not Clark Kent. It is Judd Legum. Thank you for restoring my faith in investigative journalism.

When it comes to stories like this, I am fully bipartisan. Democrat or Republican matters not. This is the type of stuff we need regardless of party. Maybe we need to look at enhanced charges and penalties for people in public office. They need to be held to even higher standards.

Yes they do. I'm with you Don. I lean independent and I hate crooks!!!

Another good job, Judd! Can't wait to see how this plays out. Keep shining that bright light on these miscreants, the country needs your help.

Congratulations! How satisfying to see results from your hard work. Let’s hope both the U.S. Attorney and the Tennessee District Attorney move swiftly. We look forward to hearing more. Thank you, Judd.

Sexton invited this level of scrutiny with his overreach re the Tennessee Three. It would be all too fitting to see him expelled in his own right.

What's that other word that would serve to enhance the concept of "all too fitting?"

Dammit!

Oh yeah!

Apropos.

And to think, with the serious business of defrauding voters over residency violations, Sexton got caught nickel & diming with per diem dollars. What an idiot among swaggering bullies of the corrupt GOP. . .

Judd: What a joy to wake up and read your reporting. Sexton does what he wants and likes it that way. To see transparency is wonderful. Very best to you and your team.

Well, perhaps now we will all see Spkr Sexton get what he gets and we'll "like it that way!"

Sexton is a good ol’ boy who thinks he is untouchable. His lies and deceit have caught up with him. Thank you Judd for starting the investigation that could be his undoing.
