I lived in Kansas for 20 plus years before leaving the country last month. I was shocked that the no vote won. Shocked! As were many. This article is the best one yet written about the shenanigans that went on during that vote, and yet the people's will prevailed. If it could happen in Kansas, there is hope for the rest of the country. Not just on abortion issues, but in general.

I sure hope so. I’m fairly optimistic because the abortion issue affects more women than they seem to realize. Republicans are living in a shrinking bubble.

I live in Vermont. We will soon have the same vote to cast. I have shared your analysis with the people I am working with to make sure Vermont follows Kansas. Thank you. Great journalism

Good on Patagonia's CEO for saying what the rest of us are thinking. If only more CEO's shared his views.

Your source is an unsung hero. The text message of lies is pivotal to understanding vote manipulation on an individual level. Please thank that person. On Geller from Patagonia, I have the feeling we should start the countdown to the smear campaign.

Good on the voters of Kansas for rejecting the constitutional amendment but I have little doubt that Republicans will try again.

One thing that escapes the GOP in their attempt to turn this country into a Christian theocracy is that probably more than half of the people that are regular church goers believe in the separation of church and state and that the government should not be interfering in health care decisions for anybody — even women. There are a lot of them that think the government should be doing this — but hopefully it’s not enough and we will see in November just what this egregious SCOTUS ruling is doing

Huzzah!! The silent majority in Kansas including pissed off women, came out to vote. We have to keep the Senate with more blue that unlike weasels Sinema and Manchin, will represent voters.

We can all help. Numerous voting organizations have phone banks.

I am doing what I can for the future of Democracy. Join me and millions of others. Less than 100 days remain.

MoveOn.org and Post Cards to Swing States are 2 good ones!

As for Patagonia. Huzzah. Some NASA Scientist chained himself to a bank because no one hears the truth of climate change. He was practically i. Tears talking to the crowd.

As for the naysayers. They can see Lake Powell and still believe the 1% garbage. I saw it in the early 80s. Can't believe it is the same place. I have few pollinators this year. That scares me. How will people survive that? Something terrible happened in the hands of corporations, the wealthy, countries and governments. We need to own it and improve. It may already be too late.

Maybe those PAC texts making it look like a YES vote was pro-choice actually backfired?!

...and in Michigan, we'll almost certainly have the chance to enshrine abortion rights in our state's constitution after a record number of signatures were turned in. Given that even most Republicans in the state have turned out to vote for increased ballot access, I'm feeling more optimism about my state than I have in a very long time.

Could be that the radical, sexually obsessed wing of the Evangelical Christian movement has started believing their own propaganda and has convinced themselves that they actually do represent all Christians in this country. When, in fact, they represent only an extremist minority. And they couldn't lie and cheat their way around it.

Big thanks for the back-half of this around Ryan Geller!!

The confusion of wording and this crazy right wing propaganda is really a coup that’s not even trying to hide. We have the numbers, we have the votes, it’s the criminal activity that is stressful to watch.

Thanks KS

And thanks, PI for this clear explanation.

Patagonia has set an example for other corporations for years. You can protect the environment, pay to help clean up and prevent more climate damage and still be profitable. Corporate greed will destroy this country if it’s not reigned in.
