Emperor Dumbass is the most mediocre of mediocre white men even if he does favor orange face paint. He also leads a movement of mediocre white men who believe that their whiteness and maleness entitles them to position, power and money that they are too mediocre to earn. What those that voted for this mediocrity are going to learn quickly is that a government and other institutions run by and for mediocre white men fails to deliver, even for those same mediocre white men.

Money doesn't equal virtue. Getting ahead by lying, cheating, and stealing does not indicate merit. The Musk isn't paying his contractors in South Texas. Just like his Uncle Trump. Pathetic but hardly virtuous.

Orange Jebus is the ultimate in mediocrity, money from Daddy kept him going. He is the loser's loser.

I suggest we relieve of his duties the original DEI hire, Clarence Thomas, and End Citizens United!

Expand full comment

Clarence Thomas is clearly unqualified anyway.

Expand full comment

I don't know that he's unqualified. But he was most certainly appointed, by Nixon, because he is Black and right-wing, and there weren't many such judges to choose from. So yes, a diversity hire.

Expand full comment

No, he was appointed by George HW Bush in 1991.

Uncle Thom was CLEARLY a DEI hire! He guilted the heck out of liberals in the Senate when he claimed that the questions they asked about his grotesque sexual harassment of the attorney who was forced to work for him was "a high tech lynching!" Oh, my! When he said that, every good liberal -- all the white boys, foremost among them was Joe Biden -- sat up and took notice, and said, "No! No! We don't want you to feel that way! We were just asking questions! Please forgive us. And of COURSE you'll be just wonderful on the Supreme Court!"

It was horrible. It must have been SO hard for her to hold her head up after that -- at least at first, people at work, students whispering about her behind her back. She deserves a Women of Courage medal.

Already hearing talk amongst the executive leaders of my company saying that it will be good to go back to being able to be the boss. (implication is that they will no longer need to listen to their employees' concerns).

Not good me thinks.

I just love the irony of hearing people who were born with money and privilege talk about how we need a merit based system that's never really existed. 🤣🤣🤣

Musk has just orchestrated a coup. Nothing else matters right now. He must be stopped. We need swift action everywhere not just in DC. Let the South Koreans be our inspiration.

If white men want more jobs, they need to do the work and get an education. Those who are not working are just plain lacking in this area. Minorities and women are working their butts off to get an education when they can and where they can, so they get hired. Unfortunately, society discourages minorities in particular from getting higher education so that's why low qualification white men find themselves squabbling with low qualification minority people for entry level jobs. The real solution is increase the number of technical education programs for those low education adults who are falling through the cracks. Those programs can help male Trump voters who voted for him for economic reasons to get a leg up in productive ways and might stop the constant discontent from those voters. We can whittle away at the problem, but I doubt Trump is interested in such practical solutions.

The problem with offering technical education programs is that many kids are funneled into those programs who would be well qualified and well served going to college. That includes people from poor families (class based discrimination) as well as persons of color and the children of immigrants. I know, because I lived it and then studied it in my PhD program. To be clear, I am in favor of offering a variety of programs for entry into skilled trades; but there has to be some equity involved. That is what has been missing historically.

I have benefitted from both kinds of education. I can say that because college is so expensive, technical education is a more practical approach to start with, and then with those skills young people can decide if they want more. I don't agree with limited education. The more skills and education you have, the less likely it is that you will become obsolete.

White men: playing the game of life on easy mode and thinking, “wow, I’m really good at this.”.

Nothing scares a mediocre white male more than a smart, educated, accomplished minority and/or woman. Especially if he knows it.

But if he has been raised in a "conservative" environment, if that far more capable, ambitious, and reliable woman gets hired, he's been trained to claim she got the job BECAUSE she was a woman, not because she beat him as a candidate hands down. Such men can never look in the mirror for the source of their own problems. They simply don't have the guts to do so.

Trump and his choices, Darren Beattie and Elon Musk, reveal their pale and vapid inferiority repeatedly--these White Nationalists lack all wisdom and have lead us into disaster repeatedly. They're responsible for the stock market housing collapse under W Bush. And recently, after firing a tall elegant and brilliant white man as chair of the FAA--nothing to do with his race but--because he scrutinized Musk's greed, we see no benefit to this White Nationalist Brigade. We recently find repeated plane crashes and unthinkable tragedy (thanks to Musk's vendetta power).

Hatred of people of color and of the female sex is peaking among these inferior men. [How pathetic that Joni Ernst is such a coward--nothing like her military background would suggest. She's no longer a woman worthy of leading.]

This is particularly obnoxious when you consider professions like healthcare and law. The boards and the bar don't give a flying rat's a$$ about what your race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation might be. You either pass or you don't. Entitled white boys are the only ones who don't understand that. I would take a "DEI hire" who got into med school on their own merits vs a "legacy" admission based on daddy's money any day.

I will never understand why white guys think they should be in charge. I have been watching the patriarchy for over 60 years and every single generation it starts all over again. As a 1960s feminist, I had high expectations. Not anymore.

There has never not been affirmative action for white men. And because of that, they get offended and angry when they are prevented from punching down and are forced to allow anyone else into the club - especially more qualified women and minorities. Jeff Tiedrich wrote a post titled "American CEOs are fucking pumped they can act like dicks again" and included this quote from the Financial Times "I feel liberated" said a top banker, "we can say retard and pussy without fear of getting canceled." Its the insecurity. They are terrified of losing their special status.

I used to be married to a (supposedly) “competent” white man. Behind every white man who pretends to be competent, there is truly competent woman.

Trump's popularity was always based on the those mediocre people who cannot understand why they are no longer important. It is hard to be to be the "best" when you have to compete with qualified women and minorities.

The attempts to purge DEI will eventually fail when corporate America realizes it needs the best and brightest which does not always mean white men. And, there will be plenty of discrimination lawsuits filed in State courts. There is nothing corporate America like less than multi million settlements.
