Joseph. But obviously only money talks in this corporate hell we live in!

It is corporate hell. The system of governance here is broken. Our institutions didn't hold and it's because of all the monetary corruption & corrupt people in elected office that are more concerned with power than public service. Corporations have lobbied, rolled back protections, had legislation written to benefit their interests & have hijacked the SCOTUS to be a rubber stamp to rule in their favor 98% of the time. Or is it 99% of the time? I forget.

The founders implemented a good system. But it required people to act in good faith. They never could've intended it to be like this. The US is now a hyper-capitalist state. The middle class is eroding from almost 50 years of wage stagnation & hyperinflation. None of this is sustainable. We either demand better & force some changes or this is headed toward a collapse I fear. And I fear even more what rise up from the ruins or what other country might take our place as a global superpower.

You said something quite profound in my opinion Maureen. "The founders implemented a good system. But it required people to act in good faith."

Indeed they did, but participants must act in good faith. Agreed. We are now seeing/experiencing a historic level of persons in positions of importance, influence, control or authority, all acting in extremely bad faith, almost as though in concert. They are not only breaking the system, but will break the whole world if left unchecked.

These are the guys in the fairy tales that killed the goose for the eggs. All of them.
