He knows that there are obvious legitimate legal challenges to this proposed legislation, but this accomplishes the signaling to potential extremist supporters and to the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. Sadly, there are folks apparently happy with the concept of an autocratic nation as long as their preferred leader is installed. The hullabaloo over DeSantis’ proposed legislation advances his personal goals. The fact that DeSantis is untested nationally and possesses a thin skin seems to not worry the establishment republicans who also support a DeSantis presidency (need to cut more taxes for billionaires you know....)
His skin can't be any thinner than Trump's skin. It will be a contest between the two most "unsanctimonius" political pawns in the U.S. The Koch political machine against the Robert Mercer political team. Both support Republican insurrectionists with their millions of chump change.
