It's frustrating that so many of these corporations are so large and part of our daily lives, they're impossible to boycott.

The people of Wisconsin should be insulted by Ron Johnson’s behavior. He acts crazy, but maybe he’s suffering from early senility. I see retirement as a good option for him.

I think I know why these companies speak out of both sides of their mouths: they are hedging their bets because they expect a Republican sweep in 2022. What soulless decisions. I’ve come to expect this from American business.

Not only is Ron Johnson a terrible representative for the state of Wisconsin, he's evidently awful at lying convincingly as well.

Great piece as usual Judd. Infuriating, but great. I really appreciate the corporate funding breakdown. But I was wondering if it was possible to create a "net supporter" kind of number since many corporations throw money at both parties. Subtract one number from the other and see which side the money supports. For example, I'm guessing the Koch's are net supporters in a big way. Intel, maybe neutral.

I know that's just one more layer of effort and you're already doing such great work building out these stories, but just an idea I wanted to share. Keep up the excellent work.

This is fine in normal times. Supporting people trying to stage a coup makes this ask pretty irrelevant.

Great suggestion. I hope he can do it.

Hope this piece is picked up nationally. Johnson is the perfect Republican. A complete hack who is owned by his donors and will do what they tell him to do. He is un-American and does not belong anywhere near government. He attempted to subvert the election and everyone has forgotten and are trying to get this same guy re-elected. Our country is doomed.

Ron Johnson is the "friendly face" of the sedition caucus. We all know about the bomb throwers like Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, MTG, Boebert, Brooks, Cawthorn, Biggs, etc., but Johnson is every bit as treasonous as them. I'd love to see all of them doing perp walks............

Sadly just like Pepsi calling your story Fake News, the GOP playbook of Gaslighting, deflecting and out right lying has been the most successful strategy in my life time.

Ron Johnson should already be in an orange jumpsuit. My greatest disappoint in the Biden admin is Merrick Garland. We are 4 months away from the '22 elections and none of the big name players in the Jan 6 have been charged. Heck, many of them ignored subpoenas as a past time under Trump and continued on into this admin.

Clock ticks. If House goes red out goes the Jan. 6 investigation.

As for the list of familiar corporate names most of them are ceo'd by Trump followers and how the heck does UPS and our unfavorite post master general not seem to be making the books against the US government?

Looking at the list of corporations, to try to personally boycott every one of them would mean reverting to at least the early 20th century in how one lives. 😟 Again, the corporations are “both-sides-ing” - I wonder how much they also give to sitting Dems? (Of course *none* of them support not-yet-elected, but better-idea-having candidates; what would be the point of that, for those corporations? Those candidates can’t *do* anything for them. 😡 )

It's really irrelevant how much you donate to the "other side" when you are financially supporting an authoritarian coup against our government.

Yes, agreed. That was my point - the corporations give to both sides so they can leverage their donations regardless of which party wins. And they don’t care how bad the parties or politicians they support actually are.

I wonder if a good old-fashioned letter-writing campaign to companies who have supported Johnson would have any effect?

One could glean his willingness to capitulate to Trump from all his public comments before, during & after the Capital attack. I’m not a bit surprised he was a huge lynchpin in the insurrection. Wisconsin seems to breed some evil politicians.

No surprise. Johnson belongs to the cheater-seditionist-mafia club. He should not be voted out but rather removed for his part in Jan 6th. He is a criminal for his participation. These people, all of them, must be put away for life.

Corporations are not on our side. Since they are “citizens” let them be punished like an individual.

In part, we have Charlie Sykes to thank for sending Ron Johnson to the US Senate. Seeing his error, Charlie has been laser-focused on getting Johnson defeated in 2022. I recommend reading Charlie's latest in today's Bulwark. At least we know that some Republicans are capable of seeing pass the Trump loyalty B.S. and seeing the danger of the seditionist part of the party.

Thank you for the whole article, and the corporate contributions breakdown. Playing dumb is more snake in the grass than senility. Have people noticed that the pose being practiced by reporters on the far right interviewing these lying kooks or crooks, is to look befuddled. Tucker Carlson is a master at this. Now Maria Bartiromo has copied it to a "T." Exposure remains the most powerful tool we have. I wish we were able to help Russ Feingold when the Koch machine trashed that wonderful, bright man in order to get the first win for Ron Johnson.

Ummm.... I think the lessons learned, especially recently, is that corporations and the super-rich HATE DEMOCRACY.
