Bob and Jean, we’re all going to have to put our dreams on hold I fear because IF we can pull this country of dreams and hopes out of the RWNJ’s jaws, we will be a broke, terribly hollowed out country full of a polarized citizenry. Those of us who have had to stand by and watch the systematic dismantling of our Constitution, our government are going to have to make the conscious decision to, once again, put some of our dreams and desires aside and try to put ourselves back together. That isn’t to say we forget them but in order to get there, we have to remember how we ever got to this point where a thing such as trump would ever get elected in the first place. Right now, we are so far out of balance that regaining equilibrium will have to come first. There will need to be justice as well. The perpetrators of this coup will have to be fully investigated and hopefully imprisoned if found guilty. Our legislative bodies will have to actually have to find a way to put their petty differences aside and find it within themselves to care more for their country than their own self interests. I hope we have learned that those who we send to to our state houses and to Washington to represent us are will really be responsive to us, the voter, and not some big-bucks beast of a corporation. Lastly, I hope we have learned that an involved citizenry is what will truly make our hopes and dreams become, for the most part, real. We have all got to do our part to keep ourselves intact, involved and inviolate.
You are seeing the way I see it. My fear long before this Pandemic, was that one big hit on the economy is going to cause the divide between the 1% and the rest of us to become a chasm. It would leave the ignorant followers of Trump subjected to their info sources blaming the wrong folks for what happened.
We have the setting for a perfect storm a weak Democratic candidate against our version of oligarchs trying to solidify power.
