The fall of the empire: drip drip drip. You know, I watched the Anita Hill testimony and remember vividly how appalled we all were by Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy et al as they pandered to Clarence Thomas and his "high tech lynching" line. Boy did they run scared at the thought of being un-p.c.. But as Anita Hill later said, it was never about race and only about gender. There was no way she would "win" over the man. Add, rinse, repeat.

Waving penis’ around is a theme among Republicans. Both figuratively AND literally.

Do you know who paid off his debt?

This whole sordid affair goes to show how important it is the Democrats retake the Senate regardless of whether or not they capture the Presidency in the next general election. The Republicans were going to vote to confirm Kavanaugh no matter what. There could have been actual video footage of him sexually assaulting women and it still would not have mattered. My heart goes to Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez and anyone else who was victimized by the man who is going to help overturn Roe v. Wade.

In my opinion, had Kavanaugh behaved like an adult at the hearing this entire sordid (yes, the best word for it) affair would have blown over. He might have said that he drank way too much in college and that he had no recollection of any of the events. And added that he was deeply contrite, and he could have apologized to Blasey Ford and anyone that he might have harmed. He might have said that since then he had pulled himself together. He might have said that he had been part of an extremely toxic male culture, fueled by alcohol, which exploited women relentlessly. And that he would work as hard as humanly possible to unwind that toxic culture so that no one would ever again be its victim. But then, I'm dreaming. All this ass-covering is depressing. The toddlers are running the country, and toddlers never ever want to be told they can't crap in their pants.

In California there is a code section in place that allows in prosecuting sexual offenses “uncharged conduct” to establish not just a pattern of behavior but also a propensity to commit sexual offenses such as the charged sexual offenses. So claims like Ramirez’s are evidence of propensity to commit Ford’s claims with that concept. (CA Evid Code 1108). A federal rule rule 414, allows similar evidence in molestation cases.

Following US politics as I do from Aust the corruption(& our politicians are pretty good at it as well) in the US justice system is unbelievable, Federal Judge ships are handed about like lollies to anyone who obeys Party writ incompetent or not

The Republican's ATT must be must be one of the most corrupt political party going,I know the Dems are probably just as bad but there not in power & they have some intelligent young people coming through

Why is being a member of any Court not subject to an age limit 75 seems reasonable to me,electing Judges is corrupt as the large money men expect favours if they don't I would be surprised I sometimes wonder if many know LAW or just await orders first

You political system is a joke with rampant gerrymandering when confronted with it the SCOUTUS said it was none of there business which I found very strange indeed

In my case, it's probably on me. I re-read my comment after I posted it and realized that I'd forgotten two words (what can I say; I'm not fully awake yet!), so I deleted the original comment and reposted a corrected version.

This whole sordid affair shows Democrats need to stop soft peddling & accommodating Republicans. Speaker Pelosi needs to step down. Her “leadership” has done NOTHING to mitigate Republicans & has only served to embolden this disgusting behavior.
