Yep! Durbin's my guy too, and I was amazed at this handy tool allowing us to actually contact him (even though it's not needed this time). Adam, we need to bookmark this, just in case we need to yell at him sometime in the future - or maybe just to say, "Hey, good job, man!" ; )
Thank you for offering a practical way to be active in this important campaign to approve Adeel Mangi to be the first Muslim American to serve on a federal Apellate Court. I have always been able to count on the New Jersey Senators: Cory Booker and even Bob Menendez. I guess I can contact Cory and Bob and ask them to speak to all of their Democrat colleagues about Adeel Mangi.
I find it frustrating that I can never contact an elected representative if he or she serves outside my district--they ALL affect my life!
Wow! I ❤️ Popular Information! Thank you so much for the hard and terribly important good work you do. I wrote to Senators Warren and Markey on Monday supporting the nomination, and I just wrote to ask them where they stand.
Love this, Judd; thank you!! I had submitted this question to both my Senators a few days ago, one of whom is Senator Van Hollen, so just sent him a thank you note. Nothing from Senator Cardin yet, but will follow up.
Vetted information is so valuable these days; practical initiatives even more so. Thank you for what you are doing.
Thank you, Judd, for first, the excellent reporting on this, and making it simple for readers to act to encourage our representatives to do what we Americans like to claim we do: the right thing. Diversity is what made this country great, and America lately has turned away, foolishly and fearfully, from justice. Sen. Ben Cardin has been contacted, but I am, perhaps needlessly, concerned. If there are any Maryland residents reading this, please contact Cardin.
To what extent does Adeel Mangi advocate the separation of church and state? I consider it the fundamental existential requisite for any sane society. Does Mr. Mangi advocate the disqualification of Christian Nationalists for judgeships and government offices? He probably doesn't, but I do. Does he think that Speaker Johnson, among many others, is unfit to serve in Congress specifically because of his religious beliefs? He probably doesn't, but I do. Opposition to Mr. Mangi's appointment is clearly coming from right wingers who ironically believe that religious law is superior to civil law and are working diligently and openly to destroy our democracy through inverted concepts of religious 'freedom'. On its face, it appears that Mr. Mangi puts the law and the Constitution above any religious law. What are the facts? Another informative article is needed, Judd. You might expose the hypocrisy of our religious elected officials while you're at it and help remove THEM from our government even if de-electing them is the only way to do so.
I suggest contacting your senators, regardless of their party. I live in Louisiana and both senators are Republican. Here is the message I sent them both: "I am writing to urge you to vote to confirm the nomination of Adeel Mangi for the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. In any event, kindly inform me as to how you will vote on the nomination, and provide the reasons therefor."
Thank you so much for the democracy.io tool and Senator extension telephone list! While my CA Senators are on the right side of history for Mangi, when there have been other issues I have messaged their DC office AND their called their local State Office. Often, a live person will answer and it's always cool to talk to staffers who serve our country!
This is what needs to happen more often. I think it would be harder for these people to keep their heads buried in the dark place if they knew that more of their constituent voters were watching and expressing disapproval.
Great job deploying the calvary, Judd! I would gladly assist, however South Carolina hasn’t had a Democratic senator since the Strom Thurman left the party (for the GOP) in 1964.
What an AWESOME initiative Judd, Tesnim. Hats off to ya!
Dick Durbin doesn't always do the right thing in this Illinoisans opinion. But he did this time!

Hey Sheri. That is a fine idea! Thank you.

Messages sent. Thanks for making it easy!

I just reached out to them too!

Done on 3/18 but no response yet. Thinking a call may help.
Turn up the heat!

Great idea!
Sent to Sen Murphy
Biden needs the help!
So do we!

Excellent idea that could be used to help in other issues.
Done! Aaron Bean and Rick Scott have been emailed! Thank you! 💙
Thank you for doing this!
Bob Menendez should still resign, but at least he's not making extra work for his constituents in this very specific regard.

Wish I could help but my state of Missouri is represented by 2 far-right Senators.
Send it anyway. If enough do, they need to feel some heat if they vote no.

Same. Texas.

Send anyway and turn the heat incrementally.
Good idea!
