Naming names is effective. Except for CVS I do not use the other corporations but I am going to switch over to my local neighborhood drugstore for my prescriptions this week and I am going to let CVS know why.
Wow. Thank you for this valuable information. It would be interesting to know which other companies support politicians/states who, through legislation, weaken gun laws & refuse to enact gun control legislation. Your articles are outstanding! I've tweeted this one out. #Grabyourwallet!
Walmart is reducing some of its ammo sales. They have sold millions of guns over the years and only stopped selling semiautomatic rifles in 2015. Their aisles are slick with blood and reducing ammo is a tiny drop in the bucket. If they meant to help stop gun violence in America, they would stop selling all guns and all ammo but that would be bad for business for the billionaire Walton family.
I don't find these donation pieces to be helpful when the general purpose donations are highlighted. There are many reasons for a company to donate to a politician in our plutocracy. Highlighting one and trying to make the association between the company and the issue via the politician receiving funds is at best tenuous, at worst, an irresponsible report that lacks context of total donations to all politicians during that time (to determine party preference) and total donations received by politician (to determine size of that company's ownership share/capture).
There is no such thing as a political donation to a politician for a specific purpose. When a company donates, it helps that politician get elected and advance his or her total agenda.
I’m rarely left speechless, but this is one of those occasions. This country doesn’t have a “gun problem”, it has a gun sickness.

Me too! CVS was only one on the list. I'm done with them.

I avoid all of those organizations in crime.
Walmart steps up. Check your evening news. Thank God.

Yes, and it is business. So find another direction to go after them. Whining and complaining here that it’s not enough is NOT ENOUGH.
Let's see them ban gun sales entirely. THEN I'll get excited.
Progress doesn't depend on if or when you get excited. But ty for sharing. :)
